A developer named Brian posted on here several years ago that difficulty in manage mode doesn't matter. I'm guessing that meant hitter and pitcher difficulty are the same. What difficulty settings do you guys use for manager mode

Re: Manage only thread
I think the sliders do make a difference. I used Josh's last year and it worked out really well. I tried using Pantherfan076 CPU sliders and the pitching seemed way different than the default.
Right now I used default for everything except for the following
Contact 6 - I played about a month of a season with it at 5 and the strikeout totals were insane.
Baserunner Speed 6 - This is more of a reaction to last year's auto baserunning issues. Now some say they never saw it but after like patch 13 last year the auto baserunning became wayyyyy to conservative.
The one group of settings I did adopt from Pantherfan was his fielding and arm strength settings of
Fielder Run Speed- 3
Fielder Reaction- 6
Fielder Arm Strength Infield- 3
Fielder Arm Strength Outfield- 6
This to me was more cosmetic than anything. It looks alot smoother when I run those settings.
I am only about 20 games but the game feels good to me now. I have had games where there 7 or 8 home runs between the two teams and I have had games where there have been none. I still get the strikeouts but not the insane amount I was getting in my first franchise.Comment

Sliders DEFINITELY matter. In any mode. They are basically personal preference items and tweaks that can make manage mode more suitable to an individuals tastes. The base stealing sliders are an example of sliders through the years that have had to be tweaked for my tastes.I think the sliders do make a difference. I never adjust sliders but they do make a difference. Another thing that makes a difference is what strike zone setting you use. Perfect leads to fewer runs being scored than average.Sliders DEFINITELY matter. In any mode. The random game freezes after substitutions at the inning break are infuriating. They happen most of the time following multiple substitutions, but today after pinch hitting for a first baseman. Infuriating.Comment

Detail it and send in a bug report. A couple of us have already. It happens when you pinch hit or pinch run for a guy who does not play the same position as the guy he is replacing.Comment

Re: Manage only thread
Another killer. Last of 9th.....game tied....no outs. CPU has winning run on third and a runner on first.
You pull your infield in. Ground ball to 3rd. Runner breaks for home as the AI goes third, to second to first for doubleplay. Winning run scores, but you get the doubleplay. Game over.Comment

Re: Manage only thread
The stagnant and increasingly disappearing offense is still a problem in manage mode. It seems like the offense regresses as the year goes on, which is a long time issue with this mode. Any suggestions? I’m not against slider tweaking, if it’s realistic results.Comment
