Yeah I’m beginning to accept that they are never going to fix it.

It's fine past year one at least. This probably can't be patched or else they would've already.

I guess I also need to accept that in 5 years, Wander Franco will still be 18 years old, and all of the other players that were introduced as prospects will be several years underage.

I haven't touched this game in probably a month or more. I'm still thoroughly enjoying 20 (ps4) and I've continued to upload "fangraphs live" roster updates where every move is made, player models are constantly being upgraded and retouched, MiLB moves kept up with, and TONS of new CAPS that I've worked on. I really don't have much desire to even touch 21, and the fact I can't locate a ps5 adds to that fact.

Wait, players aren't aging? Are you sure? I've not simulated seasons to notice. That's a major problem if they don't. Although cool they've found the fountain of youth.

I am having more fun with MLB 21 than I did the last couple years. It's a fantastic game if you're willing to ignore the criticism by those who haven't even played it or barely gave it a chance. Yes, it does have issues I'm sure (I personallyhate the new check swing and how I never can do it this year). And I'll admit out of the box the game wasn't fun for me. But now I can say on the field it's IMO the best gameplay to date for this series. It just needs a little bit more TLC than we're accustomed to or willing to give.

And I for one am so much enjoying your rosters present and past on '20, still! I hope you know how much I appreciate you and all the other rostermeisters.

Yeah, 20 looks greats on the 5, but 20 looks great on the 4 too. I really don't know why I was so heckbent on getting the 5, everything I still play is PS4, which includes '20.

That's misinformation. They age once you hit the offseason.

I figured so hence my sarcasm. He may be talking about possibly the announcers saying he's still 18 when up to bat in year 5. That I could see happening. But I've tuned out those announcers 5 years ago at least so I wouldn't even notice.

Well, it’s rumored that we might even get some PS5 games by next year.
The PS5 release.....a disaster. MLB The Show 21.....pretty much the same. No carryover rosters, no SOTS, vaults that are so screwed up. Is the gameplay great....yes. But this is NOT what I expected a next gen game to be. They need to keep patching this thing until there’s a semblance of continuity.

I like the change on Contact hitting but reading the release notes the change seems to be effective for Online head to head only.

Never less , I did some practice with power hitters and Contact swing seems to be toned down with Hit speed usually 95 and less . I was able to hit few home runs but most barely past the fence. Hit a few perfect fly as well who were not HR.

I’m curious to hear from others if the effect is real or just placebo effect.

I think the issue is the game itself claims he is 18. The base roster never updated his age to 20. So yes he will age but it makes it seem like he was at the level he is now at 18 which could cause some issues in franchises. It gives him a higher starting point at 18 so when he is like 25 he is the best ever. Just a thought on maybe why they are upset that they didn’t get his age right in the roster.
