What gives?

My last 2 games online Veteran diffculty ive struck out only 5 times total in both games and scored zero runs.. Also only a total of 7 hits

80% of my contact is on the button and good timing. All the hits are right at someone or deep flyballs. Makes me sick when a guy beats me 1-0 and i struck out him out 14 times and outplayed him..
Is this just random badluck?

That's baseball, and that's why the season is 162 games. Because you can absolutely have games where everything you hit is right at somebody. That happens irl, and it happens in the game. You can't be too results driven; if you keep making good contact, eventually things will average out.

What gives?

Timing isn’t exactly everything, you still need to be conscious of getting off “your” swing and getting the barrel to the baseball.

You can time-up making contact all game long, ya know? You’re still (usually) gonna get poor results if you’re not being selective and actually get something that you’re looking for where you can take a real rip and actually rake something. This feels way different than just lucking your way to a low K number and thinking you should have 15 hits because you’re not striking out.

Chances are you just need to be way more selective.

In a sport where losing just under half your games over the season can be considered a relative success (a winning season), you’ve got to be able to take L’s on the chin and shrug them off. It’s something I’ve learnt to do for franchise mode.

That being said I don’t play online for any sports game because I don’t believe for a second there’s no influence when it comes to lucrative online game modes. It’s all about maximising revenue whether it’s DD, FIFA/madden ultimate team etc. The studios will ensure, through whatever means, that people buy more packs, coins or whatever so they can buy wins.

To add to what some of the other posters have said, it's also about finding your pitch. If someone keeps throwing sinkers and 2 seamers low in the zone, sure, you'll make a ton of contact, but you're also going to put the ball on the ground the majority of the time. Maybe that's not your issue, but it's why we see pitchers like Adam Cimber (He's the first one that I thought of because he's on my beloved Jays) continually put up solid numbers even though they have extremely low K-rates (5.5/9 innings).

I personally strike out more than average because I'd rather wait for my pitch than swing at junk.

Again, maybe not what's happening to you (Plus, small sample size!), but perhaps it'll be helpful.

Are you talking about online play with zone hitting or offline using directional? If using zone I'd say that could be your problem.

Imagine shooting 30% free throws in basketball or 30% save as a goalie and being considered one of the best at it in the game.

And the Rangers beat the Flyers in a thrilling 21-20 final with a dominating performance by both goalies.

Are you talking about online play with zone hitting or offline using directional? If using zone I'd say that could be your problem.

Ya, i use zone. I think thats the only option in head to head online
