MLB The Show 21 Patch 15 Available Today - Patch Notes

New problem or previously unnoticed?



Pinch hit for pitcher. Next inning the pop up comes up informing you you have a position player on the mound do you want to replace him…I pressed no by accident.



Go to bullpen to replace position player on mound- no option to do so. I could only sit-down or cancel my warmed up relievers.



As a work around I went to sim game then replaced the pitcher as a manager, however all hitting stats were set to 0 for the duration of the game. None of the hits, runs, RBI’s etc. Which happened previous to the bug were recorded.



They’ve made a mess of the bullpen this year, needs patching again.

When you hit no when prompted to replace the hitter, the position player became the pitcher of record and has to pitch to 3 batters fulfilling the 3 batter min rule requirement.

And now it looks like the old issue is back

I pinch ran for Voit with Florial and at the end of the inning the game crashed.



So now we are back to having to pinch hit or pinch run for a guy who plays the same position otherwise the game will crash

I just tested this in franchise mode. Got 2 runners on, pinch ran with 2 pitchers, inning transition and game didn’t crash.

Next inning pinch ran for my CF with 1b who doesn’t have a secondary position game didn’t crash.

And now it looks like the old issue is back

I pinch ran for Voit with Florial and at the end of the inning the game crashed.



So now we are back to having to pinch hit or pinch run for a guy who plays the same position otherwise the game will crash

Okay Shawnn....looking back I now assume you play MOM. I tested this regular franchise. So I went into MOM and pinch ran a CF for my SS.....GAME CRASHED. For the love of........!!!!!!

Yup exactly.

Wow. It does the same thing when PINCH HITTING. I pinch hit for two batters with players who don't play that position and.........game CRASHED at the end of the inning. WTH!!!!!

Fixed one problem brought in two and these two are Manage Only Mode GAME KILLERS. Wow, unbelievable.

Problem is Shawn. What if you don't have someone on the bench that plays the same position as your batter???? This is ridiculous. Same with the runner sub. Another 2 weeks for another patch???

I guess I'm just going to chuck this game and go back to 20. Let me give my review score for this years The Show 21. With all the glitches in this game and now that Manage Only Mode has turned into a "just make do and forget about strategy", a big fat ZERO. Geez. I've supported these guys for a long time, but.....baseball season is almost over.

At least I had a workaround for the bullpen glitch until I downloaded this piece of garbage patch.

Did the game crash when you pinch hit or after the end of inning ? Was your pinch hitter able to at least hit ? I tried that and the guy was able to pinch hit but crashed at the start of the next inning.

Crashed after end of inning. I've submitted a bug report also. I'm going to post a sorta workaround in a second.

For MOM players. For your information regarding the new (old) crashes happening in the game after they fixed the bullpen problem.

1. You can pinch hit for the pitcher and game will not crash.

2. When pinch hitting, e.g., for the 2nd baseman, the pinch hitter MUST either have 2nd base as his primary OR secondary position. You can not pinch hit a Catcher, e.g., that doesn't not have a secondary of 2nd base.

3. When pinch running....same as above. You want to run for your catcher? The pinch runner must have a primary as catcher, OR a secondary as catcher.

So you really need to check when doing so. What a mess.

If you have the winning run on 3rd bottom of the 9th, no outs, a sloth RF on 3rd and you want to put in a speedy SS off your bench to run for him and he doesn't have RF as a secondary position....if you do it....game will crash, so best to stick with the RF on 3rd.

Check swing is still broke. That said, this is my first time playing this game this year (got it on xbox game pass), and this is the best sports simulation on the market. I'm not even that much of a baseball fan, but this game is just fun to play. Better than 2K, better than Madden. Props to MLB the Show devs for creating an actual simulation and caring about quality.

Did you read the temporary fix at the top of the page? It's a workaround but it works.

I submitted a but report but I'm at the stage where I'm just going to stop playing until and unless they fix this game. 270 games played in MOM in mlbts21 and I'm tired of not being able to manage like I want to.

I'm Charlie Brown and this game is Lucy tricking me into believing and then pulling the football and I go crashing to the ground. I ain't kicking Lucy's football no more - or at least until the next patch.
