Re: What's the difference between a "balanced" hitter...
I don't know what's going on with the thread title. I tried to edit it but it's not working.
Anyway, it's supposed to say;
What's the difference between a 'balanced' hitter and a 'whole field' hitter? -

Balanced is just an archetype, is it not?2025 Expos Expansion:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...gid=1295163793Comment

Re: What's the difference between a "balanced" hitter...
It is just a simplification of the hitters spray charts. A balanced or whole field hitter will hit the ball evenly to all fields. Pull hitters tend to pull more to their strong side field (tend to be power hitters but not a stead fast rule, right pulls to left field, left pulls to right field). Push hitters tend to hit opposite field (again tend to be more contact but not an absolute.)
The extreme versions of these 2 is just more so.Funkycorm

I prefer using a whole field hitter. Camera angles don't always let you see is the infield has shifted, so knowing you can adjust to hit pull or push given the scenario, makes it more comfortable. IMO.Comment
