Am I confusing my memories of 2k baseball with The Show or did this series used to have the ability for a user to start a franchise at whatever date it was in real life with all of the stats and records accurate to that point?
If it did, do we know why it was taken out? Either way, this is something I desperately wish was in the game. My franchise hit a stopping point do to life happening and I'm in the middle of the summer and simply would rather start a franchise at today's date in the playoffs, but unless I'm mistaken that isn't possible.
This is a feature I wish were in the game with the ability to select past dates to start from. It would be interesting to start from before the ASB and see if I can turn the Braves season around. Or you could see if you could hold onto the 1st place spot with the Mets. You could start from a month before the end of the season and see if you could get St Louis into the playoffs or win the NL East as the Phillies.
The scenarios you could play out would add so much to a desperate franchise mode.
I doubt it gets added in, but this is one of my bigger requests for the series moving forward.
