    New CBA Rules

With a looming lockout on the horizon December 1st... Is that too deep in the dev cycle to effectively implement any rule changes in the CBA into the game. Just saw a dramatic change proposed where arbitration would go away and arb players would be paid based on fan graphs WAR and all player would be free agents at 29 1/2.

Now even if they can get these actual rules in, there's is no way they'd be able to build any sort of decent logic around this right?

    Re: New CBA Rules

I can't see to many new rules changing in terms of the game

DH rule well we can put that in the game now (this will actually save time only need to worry about 2 lineups)
Extra base runner (we can already turn this on and off as well in the game)

Extra Playoffs (this is the key rule here and I don't think it's going to make it into the game next tear

I really don't think we will have a CBA till mid Feb (my opinion ) I think it's going to drag on and by then I think it is going to be way to late for them to add in more playoff teams to the game. remember when the wild card game came in they didn't get that in the first year of the game I think it was 2012.

The other talk is about the DH rule with pitching to stop starting a BP player in the first innings so that you have to pitch 3 innings or you lose your DH.

so I think the game next year is going to have problems getting any new rules in.

      mid-Feb ? you're really optimistic :-)

Agree with you, the DH, extra runner can already be handled at least. But anything related to Arbitration, free agency etc may require a major rework.

Question : I know you can turn DH on when starting a new franchise. For those who did, is the trading, line up management by the CPU is on par for the National League ? i mean , any glitches or it replicates AL logic ?

Yes I think it will drag on and panic will happen come Feb about missing games for the season and a deal will get done, then 2 weeks of crazy free agents signings will happen.

I will expect a lot of missing portraits in the game next year because of this too will be too late to add them in. however if they are planning for a April release now instead of March they might have more time.

I can't say I have tested what the DH is like with simulating I will try it out.

Well, the lineup logic is so broken that I dont think adding a DH can break it any more than it already is lol In My franchise the Yankees were leading off Gardener and batting Ryan Lamarre second while moving Judge down to the 8 spot lol

Yeah cpu doesn’t use lineup logic though it just says “who’s the highest rated at that position” insert here”

Sorry to be a pessimist but not a chance the CBA will be updated for MLB 22 the show. A decade ago they didn't even get the wildcard game in MLB 12 with plenty more notice.
