I use manage mode. On consecutive days with 2 out in the 9th I blew a save against the team with the worst record in MLB Colorado. Proceeded to lose 8 of 9 and my lead in the central division has disappeared.

Re: How often do you blow saves?
probably blow around 1 out of every 3. so not really that often, relatively speaking.
but pitching is my strength. making the other team blow saves is my bigger failingOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: How often do you blow saves?
So somebody who enters the seventh inning and up by a run can blow a save with a homer, correct? Only because if they finished that outing for the next three innings, they would've recorded a save? Yeesh, I never really thought about that.
If I'm incorrect in that thinking, please let me know. Maybe there is more to it than just that.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: How often do you blow saves?
You know, I didn't realize how good this number actually was until I realized that any pitcher who enters the game in a save situation (even if they don't complete the game) is charged with a blown save, which means middle relievers are more prone to seeing a significantly lower save percentage than closers, who actually finish games for saves (and are likely more dominant pitchers at that).

the thing is, when a middle reliever gets a hold and is removed with no chance at a save, holds are subtracted from save situations.
so say, in 2021, blown saves were at 40%
but that number is so high because it includes blown holds as well. and it probably (or definitely) shouldn't
middle relievers are way more likely to get a hold or a blown save than they are to getting a save, because more likely than not, if the save situation they inherited in the 7th or 8th is still intact in the 9th, you know the closer is coming in the 9th, no matter how well the previous pitcher pitching.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23
