I feel they over corrected the check swings.

Yeah in years past they were 90% called no swing but now I feel like they 80% called swing. It’s so cheesy. I don’t even know how to press the button any lighter for no swing. Unless it’s just supposed to be random.

Had the same problem and made the same post on here at one point. It went away when I figured out the timing window. Check swings are more challenging than theyve been but they’re perfectly fair. Keep chuggin’ along you’ll see.

And regardless, tbh making sure you’re taking a true, committed swing is probably the best hitting advice there is, so you’re gonna want to cut your check swings down considerably if this is a primary concern for you at the plate imo.
    Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I thought it was fine before. They didn't need to correct anything.

This year it's particularly bad on pitches low and away. Seems that no matter how quickly you check the swing, you end up swinging at those anyway. Feels a bit unfair.

It was too easy before. I like how it is now.

I haven't yet played this year's version. If check swing appeals are disabled, is it still very sensitive to swinging through even when you're trying not to commit to?

See, in real life, you're in "swing till you don't" mode so you have a chance to hit the ball. That means that your load, etc. is geared toward making a swing, and you may make the slightest of flinches or gestures that not even television can spot, and that is your own little proverbial "tap of the X" button. Keeping that in mind, I need my body to be able to react to not letting my swing fully commit with a slight tap, especially when I'm playing a video game on a 2D screen. I need that ease when I don't intend to swing, and it would be nice to keep the game to mimic this.

I disable check swing appeals, so they never ask umpires if I went around. Sometimes the home plate umpire will decide I went around, and sometimes the game will register my tap as a full swing... but otherwise the taps are checked swings and all is good. Is that different this year when appeals are off?
