    SDS and the PS4

With the PS5 hard to find (except for scalpers) it’s seems obvious that SDS will have to realize that they are still going to sell a bunch of PS4 games. The PS5 release was really a failure. Good luck finding one (although I did buy from a scalper back around March….$750).

What’s your predictions on what we’ll see come release date next year? Will they give a great deal of attention to the PS5 or realize that they need to really work on updating the PS4?

I believe the overall core gameplay will be same across all platforms with next gen consoles getting a few things that can’t be done on current gen (like stadium creator in ‘21)

I dont expect current and next gen feature sets to be vastly different

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

PS4 will likely be a roster update with maybe a few new uniform sets to keep it interesting.

Well seems they would cut their own throat. I don’t know how many PS5s are out there, but I’m not sure that many people think they need the PS5.

Still playing the hell out of 20 and keeping the rosters updated. PS5's are hard to find. As long as the PS4 version adds some more throwback uniforms, I'll get 22 for sure.

Except for a very few elite titles, Sony and developers will have to realise nothing is gained enough experience wise from the specs of the PS5 and certainly not enough to make people buy the new console. And people already have their various devices for media streaming and consumption. The PS5 had quite frankly no purpose for being designed and released and they know it now if they didn't already. This was a release as is often done in product development done for no reason other than to revive their market share. Like the entire Samsung Galaxy S21 series, and the Galaxy Z Flip. The massive and increasing success of the Switch is proof the PS5 is not going to be any kind of an important machine in the chronology of the Playstation. We are, like we were in the Wii era, in a phase where MMOs, PC gaming, and gaming aimed at kids is dominant. Let's face it, no console has been truly owning the entertainment world the way the PS3 and 360 did. I remember working in gaming those years and anything any studio touched practically turned to gold. XPlay and other review sites barely had any time to cover all the great releases because there were so many. The tech available suited the kinds of games being made perfectly. We have tech now we don't need so we're doing silly things with it.
I think the only chance Sony has to not turn the Playstation into a loss leader is to get more people playing games by lowering their prices, not abandon in any way the PS4, and reposition the PS5 as almost a prosumer only device or replacement for people's media centers.

I wholeheartedly disagree with all of this.

I feel that the PS4 version will be great for at least another year or two. The Show on the PS4 didn’t really hit that next gen stride until 17 in my opinion. Unless they finally put in loose jerseys I won’t feel too left out.
