CPU vs. CPU game watching in 21 vs. 20 — Where did the doubles go?

Franchise simmer here who likes watching my playoff games. I recently made the move from 20 to 21 and I’m noticing that the action in CPU vs. CPU games just seems off in 21. One of the stranger things I’ve observed is the absence of gap-shot doubles—they are EXTREMELY rare now. I’ve never been one to adjust sliders, but the action I got with default sliders in 20 isn’t at all like the action I’m seeing with default sliders in 21. CPU vs. CPU games in 20 had a much greater variety of hitting outcomes, but all I seem to see now in 21 are singles and homers.

I would suggest bumping-up the contact slider to 6. Once of the major things I have seen is that there was an "all or nothing" motif for the AI. The increased contact slider really helps add in a level of variety into the overall hitting and batted ball dynamics.

I'm not one to promote my sliders, but I think my couple of very simple adjustments (as outlined in my slider thread) will accentuate things for CPU v CPU guys.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Another thing you can do is drop fielder speed a notch or 2. Leave reaction as is and some of those gappers won't get cut off by the outfielder.

I've played 400 games in manage mode mlbts 21. Only simmed 5.

I've noticed it more on balls down the line. A few years ago for some reason they implemented balls curving foul down each foul line. That has taken away most hits down the line that used to land fair.

Sim engine and game engine are not the same which is why you don't see the impact simming games. I try to avoid extreme pull hitters because they hit balls down the line more often and tend to underperform.

Drop Fielder speed to 1. And foul frequency to 0 to see fair balls hit down the lines.
