    Attendance

I know it’s a very minor detail for many but in last few years it was bugging me the announced attendance in 8th inning was never matching what’s in the log and obviously wasn’t matching what we see in the stands.

But i always played my Franchise on 30-team controlled. During Holidays, i started a new one controlling only one team. And guess what ? All attendance numbers are now matching.

So the bug seems to be when using 30-teams controlled Franchise.

Anyway, part of the mystery elucidated

I never ever never play 30 team control and I really haven't looked into it deeply since 19, but back then, when playing non-30 team control. never had the announced attendance match what the boxscore tallied or the third often forgotten figure they give, the one where the public address guy gives out the attendance and time of game. gonna have to pay close attention during and after my next game though. always use to be one of my minor annoyances and pet peeves with the series

Hmmm..interesting. Let me know if you find something….may not be the 30 team control after all.

        Re: Attendance

I feel like I read somewhere (most likely here on OS) that when they announce the attendance during the 8th inning it is how many people are in the stadium at that time, not the total. For example, if fans left early it would be different than the attendance in the log.

I could see how the code would work to do that in that maybe there is a number that is used to populate the stadium with fans (which changes during the game) and they use that same value to make the announcement.

I could be totally wrong though....

That used to be how it was. It’s all messed up for this year.

That did in fact used to be the case. If you looked at attendance before the first pitch and at the end of the game they would be different. If the home team was losing big fans would leave and official attendance would reflect the lower number.

I haven't checked it for this year's game.

in 2077, you won't actually attend any sporting event.
you will still pay the price of admission for a seat, but you will wear Metabooks virtual reality helmet and will watch it as if you are indeed really there.

                its coming, guaranteed.
right after the great strike of 2064, in which all athletes from every sport are united in one union,
and all owners of every league are all tied into and under one managerial organisation umbrella.

                  2077???

It’s coming… sooner than you think.

Why pay for star athletes when we can be the stars of our own virtual leagues.

Virtual RTTS e-sports will be the next wave.

I can be a 60+ year old rookie of the year without ever getting off my couch.

                  Can’t wait.

                        Re: Attendance

Regarding the op I played a game recently with 31,000 to start the game at home. I managed to give up a lot of runs in extra innings and the ballpark emptied out. Official attendance was still 31,000.

At one time the "official" attendance was attendance at the end of the game. That is no longer the case.

What I haven't figured out is whether attendance matters in franchise. Does more attendance bring in more revenue? IRL it does but I don't know whether it does in the show.

Another thing I haven't figured out is how to improve attendance. I was in first place until mid June and couldn't a crowd of 30,000 at home. I dropped out of first place and started crowds as large or larger than before.

Thanks for your feedbacks guys but at this point I think it’s just a random bug.

In my first post I’m saying all attendances are spot on as expected since I’m playing a one team (Jays) controlled Franchise. Since then I tried the same but with Marlins and one with the Pirates and all is messed up again.
