    Devastating Injuries

    What’s up,

There was a time when I just turned injuries off. But I came to the realization that isn’t the type of realism I chase with this game. Last night I was playing a regular season game in my franchise with the my Indians. The division race is tight between myself and the White Sox. I was pitching a gem with my ace Shane Bieber. He was removed from the game with a injury. He broke his arm and his season is likely over. This happened with my All Star right fielder last season who was heading for a MVP season. Why it can’t happen to a pesky hitting backup middle infielder I don’t know lol. But that’s baseball. Maybe I’ll make a trade for another strong starter or just roll with someone from AAA. I never know how to deal with big time injuries from big time players.

someone correct me if I'm wrong but you can start a franchise with injuries set to auto, and then at any time and as often as you want, switch between auto and manual back and forth.

so if you see any injury occur that depletes from your enjoyment of an ongoing franchise, you can turn that auto injury to manual, heel the injury completely or switch it to a less severe injury.

    tummyache, anyone? lol

Thanks for the feedback. I’m not sure if that’s true or not. But it’s nothing I would do. Their injured or they aren’t. I wouldn’t undo a injury because it was inconvenient.

Manual injuries are great for storylines. If I have a top player out anywhere in the league for 6 months in September, I will have them miss the first 2 months of the season because they are having surgery. Since injuries all reset during the off-season.

It is a nice tool for us to have to create or adjust storylines.

what I like to do is before the postseason starts, I'll make a note of anyone on the IR I don't think would retire, remove their injury with manual injuries, then reinjure them after I'm past the Retired List page. other than that I let the bone chips fall where they may

I hate big injuries to key players. And I also love it. It forces me to be creative with my roster.
