This will be my first year since I want to say 2006 on PS2 that I don’t buy MLB the Show. I’ll definitely download and play it day one on my Series X with Game Pass, which feels like a cheat code lol. But yea end of an era for me buying MLB, it’s been quite the run.

Wow… I honestly didn’t think they’d do that again.

But it kinda makes you think if it’ll be a minimal update compared to 21. I just feel like there’s gotta be a catch

I should note, I bought the Jackie Robinson edition for Series X and PS5 with 21. And I’m not trying to start any nonsense, but I preferred to play on Series X actually. The latency just feels so much better on Xbox when it comes to timing your swing and while using meter pitching.

This really doesn’t have anything to do with the developer (Sony San Diego), but more the publisher which in this case is MLB. The goat Phil Spencer just goes right to MLB to get this game pass deal done, not Sony or San Diego studio. So with that said, I’d like to think this Game Pass deal has nothing to do with development.

First year in ages I wont actually buy the show. Last year I couldnt get a series X in time to get the game on gamepass and bought it for PS5.

I wonder if gamepass eventually canabalized sales of the Show on PS (bc many have both consoles), if Sony will eventually just stop making the game?

On the contrary, I want to say MLB 21 sold REALLY WELL even with it launching on Game Pass day one. I believe it was in the top 5 selling games on PlayStation in 2021. So Game Pass just made the game more popular if anything and it still sold very well.

So I received an Xbox s for Christmas so I’m new to game pass. Am I correct in assuming games don’t stay on game pass for an entire year? Is it possible 22 will only be available on game pass for a few months?

they're accessing a market of 34.86 millions consoles in North America and 21.75M in Japan ( +37millions in Europe + restof of the world).

If you include all those Xbox ones, that's a lot of money on the long run. I was more scared they ditch it when only on Playstation but now I feel more confident.

I do agree with all the energy (dev time) spent on porting the game, in the short term we may not see as much improvements but on the long term, more money means more development and more features.

They mentioned many times they have only one dev working on the franchise module, one on stadium creator and one stadium developer/artist. Imagine if they double or triple in next few year.

21 is still on Game Pass and they haven’t said when it’s leaving, but I would assume it’ll be taken off when 22 hits. So going by that, it’ll probably be on there at least for the year.

I remember when many people said that MLB The Show 21 wouldn't last 5 months on gamepass. Now look, it was there the whole time and now 22 will be on there as well. Still gonna buy both collectors editions for my PS5 and Series X bc SDS has earned my money. The only game I play year round is The Show.

If I only owned a PS5 I’d be pissed if I had to pay $70 while Xbox gets it on gamepass. I love gamepass and glad I don’t have to dish out $70.

Game Pass is incredible, and it somehow just keeps getting better. For first time subscribers there’s a cool trick to lock in as much as 3 years of Game Pass Ultimate for WAY less than it would cost if you just paid for 3 years GPU straight up. It feels like stealing lol

Sony made a ton of money on micro transactions on the Xbox. I know tons of people who only played Diamond Dynasty.

Same… on the series x the input lag was a lot lower than on the ps5. My hitting was a lot better on the series x. I believe it’s because my Oled has lower input lag when you set your Xbox to 120fps.
