Doesn’t matter at this point the series is dead and why are they releasing a game when they’ll be no baseball season

I am so pissed that the player models and overall graphics have not changed since basically the PS3 days but to say the series is "dead" in not even close to being true.

But I would love to know the real reason why San Diego Studio does not seem to care any more about making MLB The Show the best looking sports game on the market??????

These developers can't actually be happy with the way MLB The show currently looks on PS5/Xbox Series X can they?

I am no developer but I am pretty sure MLB The Show is capable of so much better more realistic graphics on PS5/Xbox Series X.

Gameplay which is above and beyond the most important part of any sports game gets better and better with each new version which is great of course. But come on San Diego Studio don't you think it's time to make your game WOW us again with tug on the floor excitement?

You could place MLB The Show PS3, PS4 and PS5 versions side by side and you can see that there is not a "huge" graphics difference between them.

I may be wrong but I'm not expecting huge graphics update like new player model as long as they keep supporting last gen consoles like the PS4.

Speaking as a guy who's getting Pokemon Legends Arceus soon:

I don't care if the game looks like an N64 game.

I don't care if it looks like the original Star Fox.

Does the game play well?

I remember all the ruckus about "Celda," the cel-shaded look revealed in the trailers for what would become The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

People were outraged. "Not MY Zelda game!"

Then it came out.

And no one cared about the cutesy anime look anymore.

Because the game was, and still is, phenomenally fun.

Because only one question in gaming matters.

Does the game play well?

I really don't get this argument. The game plays phenomenally well and has for a while. It's not like the gameplay is in some horrible state where it needs to spend every last resource on improving it. I don't think it should be too much to ask that a game that is releasing on a brand new console in 2022 look significantly better than one released in 2014, but apparently it is. Just because you don't personally care about graphics doesn't mean no one else can or should.

It’s not because it’s on last gen it’s because these developers are lazy look at wwe 2k22 they remodelled the whole game from scratch this is what mlb the show needs to do but don’t get your hopes up plus
Last year they released a broken game then ignored everyone on twitter until they finally fixed it almost a month later that was the last straw for me

IGN showed gameplay today and it looks pretty damn good compared to 2k20

I hope it is good and that everyone loves it. But you'll forgive me if I don't come to a final conclusion based on a IGN preview feature with the devs.
