I concur as well. Got mine from my wife in Feb 2021. She got it through Sony direct. Took 4 or 5 tries she said but she did get one at retail price.

It has run like a dream for me. Faster download rates, smooth gameplay, and much better in general. You can plug your external PS4 hard drive in and have full access to that. Runs every game I want it to with no hiccups at all. Everything from the PS4 remasters of old final fantasy games to Horizon Forbidden West and MLB 22.

And I can still Minecraft with my boys on their PS4 with no issues as well.

I get that there’s a ton of things going on behind the scenes with lawyer talk, parity, copyrights, etc but it’s such a heartbreak to have to choose between creating a real life atmosphere via SOTS and a better looking, smoother running, and more feature enhanced version of the game.

SOTS is one of the main reasons why MLBTS is my favorite game. It provides a feature that I’d die for other sports games to have in order to recreate some of the most incredible, bone tingling, and exciting atmospheres from our true passion of the sports we love.

How awesome is it to go to a live game, hang on every sound that makes your stadium special, unique, and stand out from the rest … only to be able to recreate that in a video game (without having to spend hundreds of $ on tickets to a game)

We’re all at a serious crossroads here; bite the bullet and say goodbye to SOTS while playing a smoother, better looking, and more feature-rich game (haptics, which I don’t even use because I use no vibration like Armor does for classic pitching … solid 60fps … 3D audio and ballpark sounds).

This is such a difficult decision for us SOTS fanatics

I'm perfectly happy with my ps4 pro.

I'll probably look to get one when they are on shelves in stores (eventually).
        Paying the $499 price.
It's not that I think there's problems with the console, it's just the lack of features I like which aren't available in the games I want to play.

All of that said, I don't blame you for waiting until retail price is available. I was fortunate to pre-order mine and get it day one. If I hadn't, I wouldn't own one right now.
That's the part that sucks, the feature isn't available, but when if ever will it be available in the game. Hopefully it doesn't happen too late I to the life of the console where I'm getting the game with that feature and then PS6 comes out in a few years.
