    Simulating Bullpen Management

    Playing franchise, I sim quite a bit. One bug thats been happening thats kind of ruining the immursion for me is my bullpen usage when I sim. I usually have 2 Long relief guys, and 2 set up guys slotted at all times with the rest of them filled in middle.

    Sometimes I can finish a season and both by long men are waaaay over 100 innings each, its starter territory. Meanwhile, my 2nd set up man will sometimes finish with less then 10 innings on the season.

    Any help?

    There are some issues with simming and bullpen management.

    When I sim, I rotate the slots the pitchers are in the first day of each month with the exception of the closer. This balances out this issues as the sim engine tends to use one reliever slot over the other.

    This can be daunting if you are simming with 30 team control but I always use single team control and let what happens around the league happen.

      the main issue is if it is simming or not the CPU or Ai will always pick the LR to pitch a innings if the starter is stopped before getting through 5 innings. even if the LR is burned with no energy at all that is the AI 'go to' straight away.. so it does this is simming as well as games as well. no logic in stamina at all.

      and they always keep the LR guys in too long as well. I have had to swap the controllers over to manage the CPU myself a lot because of it. they refuse to pull the LR guy. last year the MIddle and SU guys were a lot better used but they still only use the SU guy with a 1 or 2 run lead into the 8th.

      the AI really has no idea with it's logic with the BP so I end up managing it myself. it never uses the stamina of a player EVER. so if the closure has pitched 5 straight days.. it doesn't matter in the 9th innings the CPU will pick the closer... they need to write better AI logic for the BP using the actual stamina. it can't be that hard... if the stamina is below say 60% then the AI won't use that pitcher and be last in priority. I wish they would do this..

        Yet another area they could applying resources to improve, but it’s been broken for years and I don’t see it changing anytime soon.

          Keep it coming guys they need to know this is a area that needs help despertely as you guys hit it on the head here. The amount of work arounds we have to do to compensate for legacy untouched issues like bullpen AI which is a big part of the game is getting tiresome. stamina and injury system havnt changed for years either and they are lacking. The bullpen AI is terrible though for years now. The Sds guy chimed in on the other thread and made a little joke about franchise kiddingly saying how they pull all nighters well thats great and guess what its your job to make the game as good as it can be so maybe take some time to address the issues so many speak of a bit more on those all nighters other than whatever your doing now. ive bought the game since its existence i know exactly what the game offers its always fun and when u love baseball it makes it even better but at this point its been years of the same lack of changes and or improvements to certain parts of the game that matter for anyone playing more than just DD or a 1 game online ranked match. They just keep running out the same legacy issues onto the field.

            Thanks for the replies guys. Wasn't sure it was just me, but clearly I'm not alone lol. It does seem like an easy fix for such a big issue, like the 1st poster said, just put in a stamina logic, fixed lol.

              I'm sure SDS is hard at work fixing offline simulation engines for franchise mode....

                They're def aware at this point. TABARNES was a dude on here who summed and did everything to find all the franchise bugs. He was hired by sds last summer/fall. So we know there aware

                Im confident if these things aren't fixed by now its just legacy code that they are not gonna be able to rewrite and won't be fixed until we get a new franchise engine .. probably 4 years from now lol

                  The sad part is they could just add sliders like NBA2k did and let the community fine tune the engine. Adding a k/9, bb/9, h/9, e/9, hr/9 slider would go such a long way but we can’t even get stuff like that.
