The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, affirmed that the Dodgers signing Freeman is a distinct possibility.

As it stands right now I’m thinking more in terms of what makes sense.

As they pop in my head I’ll edit this. To kick things off:

Trevor Story - CIN
Carlos Correa - LAA
Kris Bryant - PHI
Clayton Kershaw - LAD
Freddie Freeman - ATL
Michael Conforto - CWS

I don’t play multi-year franchise, just one season within franchise mode. It will be very interesting what kind of 40/26 man roster we’re given. If it’s a roster with fake players filling the void I’m just going to create real players from their minor leagues and plug them in in the interim. With 30 team control I won’t place them until they sign.

Now, if the season gets cancelled (pray it won’t) I’ll see then how I handle it. I love roster accuracy, but not opposed to going the fantasy team route. Don’t want all these guys just sitting in FA. I’m sure, if I do, I’ll make some teams a heck of a lot more competitive.

Just curious.

If there are approximately 300 free agents remaining in MLB does the show even have that many FA spots to place them in free agency?

I don’t believe the player pool is large enough to carry that many unless teams are actually left with empty roster spots not occupied by fake players.

For someone who does 30 team control I will need to place them if they do not have a home by then but my hope is we are back in business by then.

I go with where I think they will wind up.

Bryant and Chafin I think are going to the Mets so I will put them there. Maybe even Kikuci (however you spell it). Or I could see myself moving Alex Ramirez and Jeff McNeil to Oakland for Bassitt and not move Kikuci to them. Chafin I think winds up on the Mets for sure due to their need at LHP in pen. Bryant I think goes to Mets or Mariners as I think Mets will sign one more big bat and go all in. However I could pivot someone else to Mets and send Bryant to Mariners

Matt Boyd I have going to the Yankees along with Rizzo. I just can not see Freeman anywhere but Atlanta. Story also to the Yankees, Though they could pivot to Simmons due to the up and coming talent they have.

Conforto I have going to the Phillies.

Correa back to Houston

Freeman back to the Braves

Schwarber back to Boston

Castellanos over to San Fransisco

Rondon over to the Cubs

Jorge Soler I think goes over to Oakland. Sounds crazy but they need to replace Khris Davis.

That is what I am leaning towards at the moment in my thinking.

This will be a fun thread. I started a franchise with the Mariners using a 22 base roster set and put the main players to teams.

I put Bryant to the Mariners and Correa and Correa to the Cubs. Castanellos to the Giants.

I like Rizzo going back to the Cubs on a 1 or 2 year deal.

Wouldn’t really know where to put Schwarber.

It'll be interesting if you're doing universal DH, Schwarber could go anywhere that needs left handed hitters. So many possibilities.

Most likely I’m going to put them on the teams they were on at the end of last season. I’m not going to start my “official” franchise until they get this worked out and they’re added to the real teams they’ll be on this year. But I will play around with it for a bit with last years rosters.

Could be fun to try to come up with 26 man rosters for each team, doing one per team and keeping up with the moves.

For instance, for my Braves, here’s how I could see things playing out:

1. Freeman signs with LAD or NYY
2. Braves trade Michael Harris, Sean Muller, Freddy Tarnock, and Sean Newcomb to A’s for Matt Olson
3. Braves re-sign Eddie Rosario
4. Braves trade Ozuna to Dbacks for Bumgarner (bad contract swap)
5. Braves sign IF Brad Miller and OF Kevin Pillar
6. Braves send OF Heredia to AAA

You could always store the 300 free agents in class A.
