I notice something interesting in franchise that I haven't figured out

Prior to starting a game when I select my starting pitcher the attributes are listed. We know the attributes of coaches directly impact attributes of players.

All of my pitchers have stamina 3 points lower than their attributes on their player card and roster.

None of my coaches have any attribute impacting stamina one way or the other but when you look unemployed coaches you notice their attributes change depending on which job you are hiring them for. For example a coach's attributes for manager is different than his attributes shown for pitching coach or hitting coach.

I don't know what my manager's pitching attributes are because I paid no attention to when when I hired him. I wonder if those other attributes carry over into the game and it isn't only the pitching coach attributes that impact player attribute numbers.

I can't think of any other reason to account for this disparity. I wonder if anybody else has looked at this and can provide an explanation.

Edit - I loaded a save and fired the manager and coaches to look at their pitching coach attributes. None have pitcher stamina as an attribute. With that theory nixed I'm really wondering what is causing this. Every pitcher has stamina 3 points different from the roster attribute. Also slight differences in other attributes.

Once a season starts, several things take relevance. One is the batting coach or the pitching coach as you mentioned, but you also have the happiness of the player that can be modified by salary, how far is from hometown, playing time, etc. Other things that change the ratings are injuries and "endurance" level.
    I hope it helps.

They actually pulled out the morale effects on ratings in 21.

One other thing with stamina....is this tied to the time in the season?

For example, do pitchers early in the season display the lower value, but by June/July, do not?

It would make sense if that were the case....pitchers are often "broken-in" at the beginning of the season.

          Interesting....

I've never really explored it; sometimes knowing too much about how something works (or doesn't in some cases) can be detrimental to one's enjoyment.
