Noticed on the lineup they showed for the Padres that Profar was listed as the DH and the game was in SD. Hoping that means the universal DH is definitely in the game.

I couldn’t help but notice that none of the catchers who wear Nike catching equipment had it on during this stream. Surely that hasn’t been removed?

OMG I sure hope not!! Pretty positive I remember seeing Nike catchers in tech test.

Fantastic. The news the other day about new commentary was a welcomed surprise and seeing the stream was a cherry on top.

The level of content they have is incredible but the little touches were just as much if not more so:

-AI smarter crowds, fan cam, better broadcast packages, on and on.

It wasn’t just new commentary but also a slew of other, settle changes that made me pumped.

I’m still on PS4, which means I get SOTS which is the ultimate treat (barring these updates being next gen exclusive which I doubt they are).

Hopefully they made a lot of changes to Franchise mode and all of these upgrades aside from Stadium Creator are on last gen too. If so, I might run with the PS4 version (even though I have a PS5) for my franchise save this year. All of these changes complete with SOTS would be a DREAM.

Also, what are the odds SDS adds the 2023 schedule setup for future franchise years? Rumors have it that MLB is changing the schedule so every team plays each other every year instead of the current rotating interleague.

I'm quite bummed about losing the MLB Network graphics package. It was such a nice touch of TV authenticity. I also thought it felt "right" to use with classic rosters (as if MLB Network was rebroadcasting a classic game or something). But, everything else from today's stream was quite impressive.

I've never been very subtle about my dislike of Mark DeRosa, so cutting him loose was an instant win in my book. I would've been fine with a two-man booth of Matty V and Plesac, but I'm also not exactly shedding any tears over SDS choosing to go with a full overhaul. So long as the name database remains intact (which I'm optimistic it will be since it affects RTTS/Ballplayer users), the commentary change sounds like a clear upgrade.

The ticker improvements were another big highlight for me. The Statcast graphics and local/RSN touches are appreciated as well.

Also, this is easily one of the best in-house score bugs SDS has ever designed:

Time to get serious about pursuing a PS5! Even if I'll still be devoting a lot of time to the PS4 version (long live Sounds of the Show!).

Let’s hope they get put back into the franchise (also added to RTTS) menus in some way as well. Looks like an improved immersion experience in the new ticker than what was in the menu’s ‘notables’ up until 17. Lots of exciting league info.

Trying to read the ticker while batting is a no-go so it needs to be accessible in other ways.

In the pause menu would be a good idea too.
