My only disappointment is how much more it appears MTO got. I liked some of what they showed for that mode but definitely not nearly enough to make me want to play it. All it did was make me wish they'd put more of that energy into Franchise. Or at least figured out how to share some of the features like the free agent announcement videos.
I agree. I wish that stuff was in franchise as well. Even the position and team needs would be a really good benefit in franchise.

Really excited for the updates to franchise. Any idea if the off-season stuff they showed in MTO will be in franchise? Loved the MTO off season

Seems like a good step in the right direction.

I certainly am not a game designer, but I feel MLBs new schedule will actually be easier to implement than a rotating interleague schedule.

3 game series vs everybody in the other league. Alternate home team every year.

Seems easier than figuring out a rotating division to play each year.

The only potential I see is the actual rotating of home vs away against the interleague games. If they can actually make year 2 switch them.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise and March to October Deep Dive

Honestly this seems like a lot of blowing smoke to me. Whenever SDS talks about logic improvements, I get the same feeling I got back when I used to play the NHL series and every year the devs would go into a deep dive about how goalies have been fixed only to get hands on the game and find out barely anything has changed and goalies are still meaningless and broken.

Even if it's all true though, I don't really see the point of these changes without expanded rosters, expanded trades, and a new progression/regression system. This improved logic stuffed into the current system is just going to create an even more frustrating quagmire of hitting roadblocks, limitations, and exploits of the mode itself that aren't present in real life.

It's like starting to write a book by making the binding glue first.

I couldn't see if we had more roster slots. they did say A ball players wouldn't be fake though. but I was trying to see any glimpse if it was still at 93 in hope that maybe they gave us 7 more class A players to 100. but none of the roster screens would show me anything

It is good that all the players are real, but what does this mean for those creating historic teams or rosters by editing players? Will this still be possible?

Very good stuff from them, A lot more for Franchise then I thought would be. I think one thing we are learning is sometime in the future March to October and Franchise will become one. Long as they still allow you play all games and offer 30 team control, I am fine with it.

There was a mention of 92 or 93 players.

It should be just fine....I doubt if all of the players are face-scanned - so it should be pretty straightforward like always....they just don't have generic "filler" guys at the back-end of each team's roster.

They mentioned 93 man rosters when they were talking about the new budgets only counting the 40 man rosters. They said instead of all 93 players.
