The major item missing from The Show

A custom draft class that roster creators can assemble and place in the vault for us to use. Do you ever see it being in the game?

A couple of minor additions I'd love to see that aren't huge deals are the ability to edit the names and appearances of managers, hitting coaches, pitching coaches, etc. and no extra innings during Spring training games. If the score is tied at the end of 9 innings, the game ends in a tie. The game doesn't count in the standings, but the stats do. This is how it is done in real life baseball.

Beyond this one major and two minor additions I personally would love to see, my hat is off to SDS for the upgrades they have made to AI trade logic. That was needed as badly as anything.

I think before something like this happens, they need to increase roster size therefore also increasing the total rounds in the draft. Then get the generation of draft picks updated. No more 25 year old draft picks because the game only allows so many prospects per season to be generated by the draft.

If they stopped having 23-25 year olds in the draft I’d be happy.

But I also think this game desperately needs custom draft classes.

How often does someone restart their franchise to play with their teams first round draft pick from real life

I think before something like this happens, they need to increase roster size therefore also increasing the total rounds in the draft. Then get the generation of draft picks updated. No more 25 year old draft picks because the game only allows so many prospects per season to be generated by the draft.

MLB shortening the draft to only 20 rounds should be encouraging enough for the SDS guys to work on trying to get us larger rosters to work with.

on good little workaround for the draft is you can edit everyone of every team's picks (even w/30 Team Control Off) that they actually sign, right down to height weight age position potential and anything else you prefer. not perfect but better than leaving it be

Oh yeah I spend a good hour or two each offseason editing the players drafted.

Yeah I keep a spreadsheet of all drafted players and edit their age, appearance, equipment, especially jersey numbers (so many single digit pitchers) so that when they come up to the bigs they actually look like baseball players

I have never tried this but when you draft players in the game can you then go and edit their names and such? Are they editable players the ones picked in the draft?

Once you reach the offseason they will be there for you to edit. I take pictures on my iPad of all 30 teams draft picks then edit them the very first day of the offseason.

A good QoL improvement they could do, that doesn't seem like it would be a massive undertaking to add (but I don't actually know this) would be to just allow us to edit players from the draft pick signing screen. That way, you could at least lower ages/edit overalls across the league, or edit some people that look ridiculous.

That would serve as a decent Band-Aid, until they are able to expand classes and add downloadable classes.

Truthfully I would take this any day over being able to create custom draft classes.

Considering trying this. But it would need to be done manually each year you play correct?

Correct. I have a thread buried in the roster section that goes through all the details of doing it. Long term, draft class edits are needed for a stable franchise mode.

Didnt a previous poster mention you could edit the player after the draft has taken place? So could we not just draft for each team a player that matches position of who they really drafted in year one and just edit them after? I mean after year one you on your own I guess but to keep realism for first draft it could work
