Doing my annual 1 inning games tour around each ballpark, and with my new aorus gigabyte 32" hdmi 2.1(120hz) monitor(ok done bragging),as everyone has mentioned, this game is drop dead gorgeous. With that said,I have not seen this before(or wasn't looking for it) pitching with Shohei Otani from the outfield view. I call for a fastball and with the way he holds his glove, you can see his typical fastball grip. Then I call for a split finger, and sure as sh** his fingers are split wide for that pitch. Different pitcher later on and he has a circle change grip. Not every pitcher has an exposed glove getting a sign. That was pretty cool!!

I love how the players feel on defense this year. Platinum and gold fielders just feel so much better, smooth. Silver and bronze fielders are good and feel safe and likely to make the play. The guys with no "colour" (Canadian spelling, lol) are an absolute adventure and I freakin' LOVE it! I'm actually making defensive substitutions and using my bench guys not just for resting players due to fatigue.Comment

I don't know when this was added, I hadn't played The Show since 19 but I love the win expectancy% on the national broadcast games.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats

Re: MLB The Show '22 Little Things (Positive Little Things Only)
That's the best part about it. Last night, I had a game tied in the bottom of the 8th and hit a solo home run and it bumped my chances up to 85% but then in the top of the ninth I struggled a bit on defense and the Reds got a couple hits on me and it dropped me to 65% and I got a little bit antsy lol but that's what makes it great, I think.NCAA: Kentucky Wildcats

Re: MLB The Show '22 Little Things
I agree with this. Very cool the further you go in the season, the more "little things" you read about. Draft picks, what team has the most top 100, best farm system, etc.The new ticker continues to be one of my favorite features on the new game.
I started my 2023 spring training, and they literally have playoff predictions on the bottom of the ticker for the AL and NL.
They have farm system rankings, and they mention the A's have 9 top 100 prospects to lead the list.
Very cool touches. Bravo.
Also my 2023 Cubs are predicted to sneak into the last seed of the postseason at 86-76. Stay tuned in the franchise thread
I hope they build on this with the ticket and I'm sure they will. What would also be awesome is a way to see the farm system list in the franchise menu.
That information helps create immersion and a real connection to your virtual baseball world.Comment

Ivan Herrera was making his major league debut. The opening of the game showed Herrera at his catcher position as they talked about it being his big league debut. Then went to a screen and showed his AAA stats for the season.
Nicely done.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: MLB The Show '22 Little Things (Positive Little Things Only)
I think this can count as a little thing even though it can have a pretty big impact on a game.

I know people have their hits and misses with the baserunning in the Show, but I can really appreciate this play. I call a hit and run with only the guy on first (L-stick right + L2 for those who don't know), and hit a catchable fly ball to deep CF. I manually send the 1B runner back to first - my responsibility since I started him - and wait for the ball to be caught. Then I tap L1 (you can see it light up on the baserunning window) and ONLY the guy on 3rd advances - the 1B runner continues retreating. The AI's smart enough to know that even though I hit the "advance all" button, I didn't want the 1B to turn around and go to 2nd. And the play goes off without a hitch.

Did I miss rain delays being back in the game? Because I just had a 90 min rain delay.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen this before. Harper misplayed the catch at the wall.
