Twins go .500 on the Week
After winning the first two games at home against the AL central division-leading Tigers, Minnesota dropped three of the next four on then week, including just one win in Tampa Bay.

The Twins won the series opening-game in Tampa, but Minny pitching gave up 20 runs over the final two games of the series.

The Twins currently sit at 11-17 on the year, which puts them in last place in the AL Central, 4.5 games back as we turned to May in the schedule.

The saying goes; April showers bring May flowers, but the Twins are hoping April losers bring May producers!

Cardinals take series against the Padres

The Cardinals (30-26) took 2 of 3 from the Padres to conclude their 10 game homestand. The Cardinals now lead the Cubs by 1/2 game in the NL Central.

The Cardinals won the series opener Monday night in dramatic fashion. Up 4-2 in the 9th, Paul Goldschmidt booted a routine ground ball with 2 outs that put men on first and third. Eric Hosmer would deliver a pinch hit double as the next batter off of Giovanny Gallegos to tie the game at 4. In the bottom of the 9th, Tommy Edman would hit a walk-off sac fly that brought home Lars Nootbar for the 5-4 win.

On Tuesday night, Chris Paddack would absolutely shut down the Cardinals as he pitched a complete 3 hit game shutout. The Cardinals never had a runner reach further than 1st base. Dakota Hudson had another terrific start, his only blip being a 2 run double by Jorge Alfaro in the 4th, that would be the difference in the ballgame.

On Wednesday Jack Flaherty would get the ball and pitch 6 innings of 3 hit ball with one earned run and 9 strikeouts in route to his 8th win of the season. Flaherty has yet to take a loss when on the mound. Paul DeJong launched a 2 run bomb in the bottom of the 1st and Anderson Tejeda would offer up a 2 out RBI single in the 5th which would prove the difference maker in a 3-2 Cardinals win.

The Cardinals will now travel to Chicago for a pivotal 4 game series with the Cubs at Wrigley as a battle for 1st place in the NL Central division takes place.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

20 games into a tough schedule to start the season, the Blue Jays find themselves first in the AL East with a 15-5 record. The Yankees are 1.5 GB with a 14-7 record. Baltimore is a surprise 3rd place team with a 9-11 record. the Rays (9-11) and Boston (8-12) round out the division. The success has came off of good starts from both the bats and pitching.

Kevin Gausman, Alek Manoah and Tim Mayza all spent time on the DL with minor ailments. Gausman is still on the IL, while Manoah and Mayza have both returned. Pearson / Stripling have filled in the rotation flawlessly.

Twins Take 3 of 4 in Baltimore
Minnesota won the first three games of the series but failed to complete the sweep with a 5-2 loss on Thursday.

Chris Paddock (2-2) went six scoreless as the Twins beat the Orioles 6-0 in game one of the series. Luis Arraez and Max Kepler each had three hits in the game.

The Twins took game two in a slugfest 11-7 over Baltimore. Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa went a combined 7 for 10 with five RBI in the victory. Designated hitter Ryan Jeffers also added three hits and five RBI.

Carlos Correa drove in three runs and Joe Ryan allowed two runs over six innings as Minny beat Baltimore 5-2 on Wednesday night. Emilio Pagan (1-1) picked up the win, while Tyler Duffey recorded his sixth save.

Baltimore ended their five-game slide with a 5-2 win. Tyler Wells (3-1) went six scoreless with eight strikeouts in the win. Sonny Gray's (1-5) struggle continued going just four innings, allowing five runs and two more walks. Gray's ERA now sits at 8.24 on the year.

Minnesota (14-18) will welcome in the lowly Athletics (5-27) for a weekend series at Target Field. This series will kick off a nine-game homestand for Minny.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

I'm using the Phillies in franchise and my lineup is SO much fun. Going Harper, Castellanos, Schwarber in the meat of the line up is unfair.

Then you've also got Realmuto and Hoskins, and even guys like Segura and Gregorious are more than serviceable.

I've traded for Gleyber Torres too and his hitting stats are improving quickly. I'm probably going to also add Hunter Renfroe at the deadline because the Brewers have imploded and very much look like they'll be out of it.

Line up will look like something like:

                1. Torres
                2. Harper
                3. Castellanos
                4. Schwarber
                5. Renfroe
                6. Realmuto
                7. Hoskins
                8. Segura
                9. Bohm

I also traded for Austin Gomber of the Rockies to round out my rotation. I like to run with 6 starters but keep one in the long relief slot. I get him to stretch and toss from the first pitch so that I've got a second option ready to go if my starter struggles early. Now that I've got Gomber, Eflin is that guy.

I'm really pushing the chips in this year because my offence is just lights out and I definitely feel like a World Series is possible. I didn't have a great draft so the farm system is down to Stott, Painter, and not much else. Need to nail the draft next year to get some cost controlled options in the pipeline.

Texas Rangers Season Manage Only Mode Season 1

What a dreadful start to the 2022 season. I thought with the addition of Seagar and Semien that this might at least be a year in which the Rangers would have some hope. I just lost 14 straight games and am sitting at 5 and 27 for the year. Yes 5-27. My pitching staff is God awful. I thought that it might be a slider thing, but its MOM and the sliders are the same for me and the AI, plus I'm losing the games I simulate also. I play 1 Game then I will start a game on MOM and sim to end for 3 straight games before the 1st batter gets up. I've been playing this mode and this series since 2006 and I have never had a team start remotely this bad. First Month is gone, lets hope we get allot better

Twins Take 2 of 3 from the A's

Carlos Correa had four hits and 3 RBI, and Gio Urshela delivered a 3-run homer as the Twins edges the A's 7-3 on Friday night. Jharel Cotton (2-2) pitched three perfect innings in the victory.

Chris Paddack (3-2) went six strong innings with eight strikeouts, and the Twins got some surprise offense from Alex Kirilloff as the Twins edged the A's 3-2. Kirilloff drove in all three runs in the game, a two-run homerun in the second and then a RBI double in the 7th.

On Sunday, Chris Archer was unable to stop the A's offense, as Oakland ended their 10-game losing streak with a 7-4 win. Archer (2-4) allowed 10 hits, four walks and five runs in just four and two-thirds innings. Gio Urshela and Jose Godoy each drove in two runs in the losing effort.

After an off-day on Monday, the Twins will welcome in the Houston Astros (22-13) into Target Field. It will be a matchup of righties as Joe Ryan gets the ball for Minnesota, and Lance McCullers Jr. toes the rubber for the Stros.

Tigers advance to (16-7), take last 2 of three from Colorado

Despite a terrible showing from Eduardo Rodriguez, in which the Rockies ended up with 5 homers, 16 runs, on 20 hits, in game one. The Tigers bounced back and won two low scoring affairs by the score of 3-2 and 3-1, both with Andrew Chaffin shutting the door. Turnbull continued to be solid, and Pineda has continued his great start as he sits 3rd in ERA in the American League at the moment.

The Tigers now take a day off, and head to Minnesota for 3, to take on the Twins. They head there with a 4 game lead, as the next closest team in the slow starting central is the 10-10 Guardians.

                      Rumor Mill
Rumors are swirling just an hour south of the big league park. Riley Greene, despite having one hit in his first 6 games, is starting to heat up and may be showing that he is ready for the Major League level. Only problem for him is the current outfield trio has played quite well in the absence of Reyes, with it looking like this most days-> Willi Castro in Left, Akil Baddoo in Center, and Robbie Grossman in Right. However Greene, if he can hit, may be able to become a big PH, and a spell to the Miggy DH spot as well. But it still could be a month or so before the second expected big name joins the big club this season.

Finally got a win in the second game of the series against the Reds, 5-4. Good game from Riley, 2 doubles, an RBI, and a run. Won with a walk off hit to the outfield from Duvall allowing Dickerson to score the run. 4-4 now.
Also, in only eight games it’s already my third in extra innings.

Cardinals take series against Cubs to extend divisional lead

The Cardinals (33-27) took 3 games of the 4 game series against the Cubs in Wrigley to extend their divisional lead to 3.5 games.

Cardinals won the series opener Thursday, were shutout Friday and then won both weekend games behind strong bats.

The Cardinals will be off on Monday as they travel to Tampa to face the Rays for a 3 game interleague series.

Cardinals sign Albert Pujols to a one year deal

The Cardinals have brought home one of the most beloved players to ever put on a Cardinals uniform.

The Cardinals and Albert Pujols agreed to a one year $2M deal. Pujols will join the team in Tampa for their series with the Rays and is expected to start at DH.

The Cardinals need a right handed bat off the bench as injuries pile up and finally convinced the 42 year old come home for one last ride, or half a ride.

Anderson Tejeda was optioned to Memphis in a corresponding move. Tejeda was sent down over Brendan Donovan as the Cardinals won the youngster to get everyday at-bats, the one area that he needs to get more consistent at to stay at the big league level.
