Sitting in first place in the NL West at 87-48 and 11.5 games up on the second place Giants

The middle of my order is killing it!

Fernando Tatis Jr is hitting .301 with 52 HR and 109 RBI
Juan Soto is hitting .323 with 35 HR and 88 RBI
Manny Machado is hitting .282 with 33 HR and 90 RBI
Josh Bell is hitting .288 with 36 HR and 80 RBI

Pitching staff is doing solid work as well.

      Musgrove 15-7, 3.10 ERA
      Manaea 16-4, 2.79 ERA
      Clevinger 12-6, 2.64 ERA
      Darvish 12-6, 3.58 ERA
      Snell 9-4, 3.22 ERA

Ryan Weathers out the pen has been lights out in his role at 8-2, 1.49 ERA, 0.85 WHIP
Josh Hader has 54 K's in 44 IP with 28 Saves. He's unfortunately not getting many chances with this team.

Luis Garcia has been lights out out of the pen as well with a 1.62 ERA and 0.87 WHIP

We just extended Josh Bell on a 4 year deal with an AAV of 10.5 Mil
Brandon Drury signed a 1 year extension for 8 mil
Clevinger also being brought back on a 2 yr deal with an AAV of 12 mil

Ah okay. I've never played with budgets off. If you want realism with your franchise then keep it on.

I played every game of the Texas Rangers in season 2021. Here are the highlights from Series 19-21.
The Rangers visit Houston and then Minnesota and Oakland at home.

Cardinals split series with Reds remaining 1/2 game up

The Cardinals (61-52) split their 4 game series with the Reds over the weekend in St.Louis. The Cardinals remain just a 1/2 game up on the Reds in the Central. The Brewers (4 GB) and Cubs (6 GB) have climbed back into the race as the Cards and Reds beat up on each other.

The Cardinals won on Thursday night, but then lost both Friday and Saturday in extra innings. The Cardinals were able to salvage a series sweep by winning Sunday and remaining their divisional lead.

The Cardinals will be off on Monday as they travel to Philadelphia for a 3 game series with the Phillies and then to Miami for a 3 game weekend series with the Marlins to conclude the week.

Cardinals place Tommy Edman on 10 Day IL

The Cardinals have placed Tommy Edman on the 10 Day IL. Edman pulled a groin muscle tracking down a shallow outfield pop fly. Edman had been moved to the leadoff spot where he was successful in an attempt to balance out the lineup.

Edmundo Sosa was recalled from Memphis to take the vacant roster spot. Nolan Gorman, Edmundo Sosa, and Yairo Munoz will likely be a revolving door at 2nd base until Edman returns.

Budgets being on will mess up your franchise if you play more than two years. Team’s won’t be able to anyone, leaving free agents on the market pretty much forcing them to retire, even though they have high overalls.

Cardinals drop series to Phillies in Philadelphia

The Cardinals (62-54) dropped 2 games of a 3 game series with the Phillies to begin the week in Philadelphia. The Cardinals will maintain the division lead as the Reds lost their series with the Brewers. The Brewers themselves have climbed to within 3 games of the Cards.

The Cardinals are just inconsistent right now. Pitching is struggling, hitting is struggling and even the defense is struggling. One game at bats look good, next game they look like they are swatting butterflies. Pitching looks solid one night and then the next they are tossing batting practice. It's a frustrating stretch to be going thru especially this time of the year and when you're in the middle of a tight divisional battle.

The Cardinals will now travel to Miami for a 3 game weekend series with the Marlins over the weekend. Hopefully the Cardinals can figure things out and get back to playing winning baseball.

So ignoring the budget is the best option then? I did a test Sim and seen that teams still try and stay under the budget so I guess that's a good thing but I only simmed one off season. Might try doing up to 3 off seasons and see what happens.

I play using the budget and my franchise isn't messed up after multiple seasons, especially in '22 since the budget only comprises of 40 man roster and players on 60 day IL (if placed off of 40 man roster)

You may have a player or two left unsigned that you thought should be signed but it in no way messes up a franchise. And you're always going to have players who can contribute to a MLB team in free agency because of the limited roster spots. Teams are able to sign players as you progress multiple years into a franchise.

☆☆Mets CF Starling Marte injured elbow, early exit vs Reds.

Luckily for the Mets the MRI cleared any major injury. However Marte (.284/.325/.433) will miss 1-2 weeks. Possibly he will not return until after the Allstar break.

In other news, Dodgers star SP Clayton Kershaw broke his hand and is out for 2-3 months. Could be rest of the season, but will indeed be back by playoffs.
