    Arizona Diamondbacks 2022 Opening Day

Gallen outlasts CY young winner Burnes as DBacks start season 1-0

The Diamondbacks are currently perfect on the year after a 3-1 victory over the hosting Milwaukee Brewers on opening day. Arizona only mustered four hits in the victory but the hits came at opportune times. Carson Kelly got a seventh inning single once started the rally as Arizona looked to take the lead.

The move to pitch run for Kelly would work out as Geraldo Perdomo scored on a David Peralta double. The scoring would be capped off as Peralta himself scored on a Christian Walker sacrifice fly bringing the score to a 3-1 advantage for Arizona.

The bullpen would finish out the game as veteran Mark Melancon started off 2022 with a opening day save despite giving up two hits.

The Diamondbacks will look to continue their early success in the second game of the year as Madison Bumgarner faces off against Brandon Woodruff.

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

Perhaps I should've elected to have that runner on 2nd base for extra inning games. I had a game against the Orioles go 20 innings, which I somehow managed to win.

Blue Jays are off to a 3-0 start. Very early, but considering moving to Dynamic difficulty for Pitching as I fear I'm going to be a bit too dominant on AS default. I think AS+ or HOF is where I need to be for the long term. Batting-wise, AS default Timing has been great.

Loving all the reads guys. And loving seeing how many of you make sure the game is a challenge as opposed to just winning 145 games every year. I can't wait to share my stuff once the first major roster update comes out. you are making it so hard to wait. But I must.

Well, I caved and bought MLB The Show 22 after all of the positive feedback on here. Have to wait until tomorrow when the game actually drops and will start my franchise with the Blue Jays at that point. Will play a few spring training games and get right into the 162 game grind. Plan to play every pitch of every game as usual. Really looking forward to this year!!

I'll be starting up a Cardinals March to October and since I haven't really played The Show that much (XSX user, played 21 a little bit) I'll try dynamic difficulty with gesture pitching and timing hitting.

Love reading all the franchise posts!

                              San Diego Padres Fulfilling Destiny
Founded in 1969 The San Diego Padres have just 15 winning season in that time. Two NL Penants that ended in World Series losses, in 84 to The Detroit Tigers and 98 to The New York Yankees. They have a few NL West banners, but none since 2006. If it weren't for bad luck, this franchise may not have any luck at all. A generational talent in Tatis develops and Machado signs with San Diego, but at the same time the Dodgers find an unlimited bank account and the San Francisco Giants keep finding ways to be competitive. Last year was supposed to be the year of SD after a wild card birth in 2020, but they "choked" down the stretch falling to 3rd place and missing out on the playoffs all together.

With Fernando Tatis out until mid June most likely, The Padres hope to just stay afloat in the difficult NL West to stay within reach of the playoffs. After a trade for Sean Manea they're hoping that they wont need to rely on the bat of Tatis as much. Game 1 of 162 will pit San Diego vs San Francisco. Carlos Rodon vs Yu Darvish in sunny San Diego

Game 1: Carlos Rodon had a no hitter into the 4th before leaving the game with tightness of the oblique. Rather than risk it San Francisco brought in Alex Cobb.....big mistake. A 5 pitch walk to Grisham and a double to Machado brought up Luke Voit, who crushed a 3 run homer to open the game up. San Diego then got 3 more runs in the 5th and a homerun from Jurickson Profar in the 6th. San Francisco managed a consolation run from a Tommy La Stella homerun. Yu Darvish went 6 innings, 1 run 5 strikeouts to get the win 8-1.
Series:San Francisco's luck would turn around however splitting the 4 game series, 2 games a piece including a 13 inning game 3 where San Francisco got the game winning double from La Stella to score Joc Pederson.
It's on to a mini 2 game series with Colorado next for San Diego as both teams look to try and keep up with the quick start, Los Angeles Dodgers

Re: MLB The Show 22 Franchise Discussion Thread

I’m most likely going to restart once the opening day roster is out but I can’t play any other game mode. Anyways I’m 11-4 with cubs. Started out 0-2 then won 10 in a row. Now dropped 2 of the last 3 but I just probably played the best game I’ve ever had in The Show.

In Colorado I jumped out to a 4-0 lead. The following the inning the Rockies tied it at 4. I retook the lead 5-4 on a Contreras home run. Then Kris Bryant tied it with a homer of his own. Villar comes up and homers I lead 6-5. Elias Diaz homered the next inning to tie it. In the 7th Suzuki homers and it 7-6 Cubs. Then Suzuki drops a fly out a run scores tied again. They go up 11-7 due to two errors and some hits. In the top of the 8th with two outs Nico Horener hits a game tying grand slam. Then they walk it off in the bottom of the 9th with a single. What a freaking back and forth game.
