Yeah, count me in the camp that thinks the commentary is a little rough out of the box. Year 1, so I'll get over it, and I'm glad we have a new crew.

I doubt there has ever been a commentator I hated the sound of more than Mark Derosa. Period. I don’t care if we have to endure three years of repetitive dialogue to have lost that voice.

I thin the PBP is fine, but it is going to need more audio added. But I thought that was in the plans. As the season progresses, they will stitch real commentary, right?

I just put it on Fast play and will just use Broadcast for special games.

Totally respect your opinion my man. I don't find it to be erroneous at all. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. But hey, not everybody sees things the same way!

Flat out, as long as the kids aren't buying their jerseys everything is fine.

as long as they stick to this 2 man booth and don't try to add an unnecessary third wheel, the PBP will get better quicker IMO

Everytime, well almost, in 21 that annoying/droning Plesac, on a 3-2 pitch, would say “now would be the time for a change up, if thrown right, it’s almost unhittable”. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

I can overlook some bumps in the road and i also love some of the SILENCE. Love it..

Didn’t expect perfection year 1 and they’ll be some glitches to hash out but I’m happy they made a change and it’ll get better the next few years

                  Re: PBP Audio is Rough

Glad someone else pointed this out. The audio has been okay but I've been hearing the 9 pitch at bat over and over and over when the count is like 2-1 or something. I was using "quick counts" so I was hoping it was a glitch with that system. I was also losing today 2-1 to the Royals and they got a single and he said "the tying run is on base" yet they were obviously already winning.

There are moments were the announcing does seem exciting....on deep flies and line drives to the gap I do feel the energy. Hopefully they can patch the small issues.

Singleton is very low-key which really helps you ignore the repetitive lines. De Rosa was so obnoxious with his delivery it really didn't matter what he said. Boog has some inconsistent tone in the stitching of his lines but it's not grating.

To me, Singleton sounds a bit bored and monotone. Also, easier to tell he is reading from a script. I wish they would allow us to turn off specific announcers or go to a one man booth.

                        Re: PBP Audio is Rough

I’ve been very critical of this game’s audio for many years, and I still have complaints, however, the one thing they got absolutely 100% right is that the commentary *sounds* good. The way it’s layered with the rest of the audio is very nice and it ends up being like FIFA where even if it’s repetitive it barely matters because: it’s on time, paced well, and sounds good.

Boog was a fantastic choice largely because he sticks with mostly neutral or downward inflections, which is ideal for baseball, and with his upward-inflection stuff coming off kinda playful and funny, it’s a really good balance. I have almost zero complaints with him. The timing on some of these calls is incredible.

Singleton I could take or leave, and could write quite a bit on how they’re screwing up with his lines imo, but again, he sounds decent enough as a part of the more general audio profile, it’s easy to just zone out and let him serve as ambiance so to speak.

A+ for PBP, completely disagree OP. Maybe a bit rough around the edges but it’s literally the best baseball PBP since MLB 2K7 imo.
                        Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

                          The erroneous PBP is brutal.

When you are up 4-0 and tack on another run and hear, "And that just ties the score." Sorry. Gotta do better. I'll wait for the fix.

Until then I'll switch over to sounds from the stands. Bye, bye Boog.

Yeah, not impressed. Made it about 5 innings before muting it.

I honestly don't need story time by the color guy(s). Don't need a color guy at all, really. Just have one guy call the game and note any relevant statistics. That's it.

Been playing a couple of hours and I've already heard about 5 completely wrong statements, while also hearing repeats of things an awful lot. First impressions are that the commentary isn't actually any better, it's just different. If anything, it's quite a bit worse, if they repeat themselves as much as this in just a couple of hours, it's hard to imagine what it'll be like after a month.

Great to know that every decent young player could be in the league for the next 10 or 15 years, but I'm not sure you had to say it in the top of the 1st for Albies, then again in the bottom of the first for Alvarez.
