    Contracts – extend immediately or…?

    Hi everyone,
I struggle with this every year that I buy this game and play… When you have a one-year player that you know you want to resign, do you sign them to a contract extension right from the get-go of a season or do you wait deeper into a season? If you wait deeper, how long?

What do you guys think and do?

If you know you want the player then lock him up. The cpu i believe never resigns a player during the season, but it doesn't mean that you can't. Its your world.

As far as what I do, I usually wait until the season ends to do all contract work.

yeah, I prefer to do all that type stuffs in the off-season, so many other irons in the fire in season that I can wait till November-February to do everything else.

now IRL I'd probably do it in season but in the Show it's one of those luxuries I can afford to do things differently

I like to start in Spring Training, so before opening day, I will extend a few guys that I know I want to run multiple years with.
Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players

MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

There is an extension phase in August. I wait until then so I can see how that player is doing before I pay them long term.

I wait until the off season to try to re-sign a player precisely because the cpu teams never do it during the season. I'm careful not to do things the cpu isn't doing.

Same with sponsorships. I don't use them because reportedly the cpu doesn't. It would be an unfair advantage.

Yeah I'm the same way for the most part.

                I use sponsorships and here's how I justify a fair trade-off:

                1) I use sponsorships, the CPU doesn't.

                2) I turn balks on for me even though I know the CPU won't.
