At least just come out and say, “hey guys sit tight, all this stuff will be added” or “sorry we aren’t going to be able to include this stuff in the game this year” so the people that are waiting to see can get on with starting their franchises and what not. The lack of transparency the last few years on a number of issues has been horrible.

This imo is Ramone Russell’s doing. I feel he’s the link between the game and the community and he decides what info gets put out and what doesn’t. Obviously it’s more of what doesn’t than what does and that’s unfortunate! It would be nice to see a list of things they are working on or things to get excited about but it’s almost like SDS doesn’t want to admit fault to the game. I’m not here all the time, do the SDS devs come here to talk about the game or has that been halted also?!?! It would make a lot of sense if they were told not to talk to “the people” anymore because they let out too much information otherwise.

I'm not seeing the Rawlings red label gloves, anyone else experiencing this? I do have the patch as the Astros' CC uniforms are available.

As far as equipment goes, and especially Nike catchers gear, which I really want back in the game, I'm not making an excuse for this, but it could be a licensing issue right now. It could be a lot of things. I want to believe it will be added at some point. There could be an issue where they are working on signing a new agreement with them. It could have something to do with the lockout. Or a ton of other things. And as far as them not saying anything about it, it's possible they just can't say anything at this point due to licensing not being worked out yet.

I'm just trying to think of actual reasons other than they just took it out to piss us off.

Me too. But if this has anything to do with legality in any way then they most likely can't say anything. Again, just trying to find a possible reason. Hopefully we find out one way or another soon.

As far as Nike catchers gear goes, what they showed in the trailers was the same gear that was in the game last year, but Nike has a new set of gear that looks a little different and they probably haven't finishing creating it yet. That said, they have updated the textures on some of the equipment that's in the game now, so maybe they're just working on one thing at a time.

I understand the idea that licensing could be the hold up, but if that were the case I would assume (perhaps ignorantly) that the items would not appear on their website. I tend to agree that they have not yet created the items for use in game. Unfortunately that also comes across as the more underhanded hypothesis considering the items were shown in promotional material, and frankly if I had known the items were missing I would not have purchased the game until the items were added. That would have saved me a few dollars since I purchased the middle tier premium edition to gain early access. This model is frustrating for consumers but could clearly benefit the publisher. I think there has been some recent controversy over Gran Turismo 7 for some business practices that aren’t exactly consumer friendly.

I wonder if it's as simple as they didn't get the permission for the equipment or the design put in a timely manner. It's not taking away from my experience with the game though.

One tiny detail i noticed from the patch, they updated the EvoShield leg guard so that the secondary color is only around the outline. The straps now are associated with the main color. It looked like they updated the texture on a few things as well

It’s not a licensing issue! If it was than a particular brand wouldn’t be in at all! Right now we have Mizuno bats and gloves, but we are just waiting on the batting gloves. Two Adidas cleats are in the game but there’s still at least one more pair that should be on the way. Nike and Jordan catchers gear and batting gear were in the game last year, are on the Marketplace right now, and there are cleats, gloves, and batting gloves available for use in the game right now also. ASICS batting gloves, gloves, and cleats are in the game but now we’re just waiting on batting equipment. So almost all the branded equipment we are waiting for right now, the brands are already in the game! No licensing issue if the brands are already present. And the only reason we know things are missing is because of the marketplace, the Tech Test, and the fact that certain equipment were in the trailers. Also the fact that a lot of equipment was absent even though they were in the game last year.

NBA 2k this year was really weird on shoes and didn’t add much like they usually do and that was blamed on the manufacturers (Nike mainly) and licensing type issues, so it’s awfully coincidental that equipment inclusion is jacked up on The Show right now as well

While I am thankful we have the ability to add updates to games throughout the year, I do miss the days when customers were treated with the respect of a finished game when they bought a triple A title. Too many publishers these days are to quick to release games, and fix or add things that should have been in later. Why are these items in the marketplace but weren’t included for offline free modes. Hmmm wonder where those priorities lie.

I play multiple sports games throughout the year I.e. madden, fifa, nba 2k, ufc games, wwe games, nhl. By the time some of this stuff gets added I may have already moved on to my madden cycle

My gut tells me it's more of a technical issue having to do with textures and whatnot. I'm inclined to believe that some equipment was pulled to update certain textures (like with the EvoShield guards) and/or address some lingering flickering issues people dealt with last year.
