    Batting Tendency vs Hitter Tendency

This might seem like an obvious answer to my question but what is the difference between Batter and Hitter Tendency? I’ve been playing this game since 2010 and just realized these 2 don’t always match up. I’m figuring the Batter Tendency has to do with the timing of the swing vs the Hitter Tendency which is the players spray chart?? Which one affects the defensive shift?

Did I get any of that right?

I included a couple images to where the two don’t match up for the player.

Thank you for your help in advance.

They're both the same thing. What you're seeing, though, is a legacy bug whereby the player card doesn't show the actual rating. This has been around for years and not fixed.

I thought that might have been the problem, a bug but once I saw it in there again this year I figured there might actually be a difference. So just to be clear, is it the player card or the player edit/attribute screen that shows the correct tendency? So in the example above is Jimenez an extreme pull hitter or just a pull hitter?

Well, you kinda have me there. I've always gone by what shows up on the edit screen, since that's where the source of the data is or can be changed. But it could be either...there's really no way to tell for sure. I haven't really looked at in a few years myself.

I will have to mess around with it and see if I can’t figure it out. I’m thinking the edit screen is the one that displays the true tendency.

Thank you for again for your help. It was much appreciated.

The player card has the correct tendency, not the edit screen.

You have to play with the tendency to get the result you want. Sometimes, a player can be set to whole field but will be shown as a pull hitter e.g. Judge. I think this has to do with batting stance but I'm not sure.

Switch hitters also have to be set to the oppositte of what you want them to be (unless they are whole field hitters) e.g. opposite tendency if you want them to be pull hitters.

In sum, player card is right.
