In Franchise mode (cannot be done outside of it) go to the INJURED LIST.

Click R1 (ps4/PS5) and it will give you a list of all the players in your organization. Click on the player, and it will bring up a "manage injury" tab. There you can assign the injury, and duration.

On a side note, I really wish they would give us back the ability to turn OFF the Gosh darn Home run camera.

Re: Five removed features MLB The Show needs to bring back

Would love to gage everyone’s thoughts about the PS4 vs PS5 version of the game this year. Being a massive SOTS fan, and spending hours creating the sounds that make each park unique, I’m curious as to if this OS crowd is playing the PS4 version (to use SOTS) over playing the enhanced version of the PS5 game.

SOTS is the one thing that makes this game so special to me because it’s something that I would die for all other sports games to have, to create the incredible atmosphere that so many sports venues have and truly make them feel different.

It seems to be a common thing for gaming companies to remove features, only to add them back in years later, disguised as new features.

I totally get that the main reason for SOTS’s removal is for feature parity, but it’s just such a heartbreak to be without a feature that is one of the main reasons why I play this great game

to add on to this, first you have to go into settings > general > advanced, turn injuries (in between ejections & check swing appeal?) turn injuries to manual

I only left that part out because he already stated he had them on manual

Morale is a funny one, as it's a microcosm of franchises problems. When it was introduced, it was a cool idea, add another dimension to decision making. But it was broken, it needed to be adjusted and fixed to make it work.

So they did nothing to fix it for a few years, then removed it.

I think this might be the problem. I have them on manual in the Mode specific injuries setting. Sounds like I needed to check this in the general settings. I knew something like this was creating my problem. Thanks for the help, guys.

Edit: Thank you guys again. I tested it on my lunch break and it now works for me. I don't know I'd have ever found it without you two. Just wanted to add it to this post.

Have we ever gotten an answer why we can’t edit coaches? Game desperately needs a Create-A-Skipper.

All Star Baseball 2001 is still my favorite game of all time and had the best mode in any Sports game, expansion mode.

For me the one thing which I would most like to see is the return of year to year saves; especially for rosters. It is very frustrating having to recreate the same players each year. It is also very discouraging for those who would want to create historic rosters. I also hope they take great strides to rebuild the last name voice database which was decimated with the move to a new commentary team.

Good point and agreed, Energy is also broken it has never worked especially when using player locked mode in Franchise. Even though everything is set to Auto Manage the cpu will never remove or replace a player even if they have 0 energy.

And to that note Auto Manage of a line up does not work either. I wish it were based on player performance but as far as I can see the cpu will never change the line up unless a player gets injured.

I'd love if they showed the PCI placement on the swing info box when using timing/directional hitting again. I know the PCI is invisible but it still doing something for every swing using timing.

They took this away years ago I can't even remember now. Really wish it was brought back. Nice way to see where every player's swing was at during the ebs and flows of a long season.

You know, another feature I use to love that they took out when the game jumped to PS4 is create a chant. I use to have all kinds of fun coming up with taunts and chants. The days of the road crowds chanting "Juicer" at A-Rod or "A-Roids" were fun. They should bring that back so we can simulate the hate the Astros get on the road as well.

It was a very fun feature that made no sense to remove. And if SOTS is not coming back this could be a great fix at least for the chants.

I like the idea of morale to help keep teams balanced and keep you from hording players.

But I feel like it ends up broken in every sports game.

I remember having to assign players appropriate roles in MVP and older NBA2k games or else the players would get mad and underperform

Yes! My name was one of the ones that got removed. Here I was begging for them to add more names (like my wife's maiden name) and instead I got a new commentary team and my name was one of the ones that got removed because of it. Hopefully it returns when Boog gets more recording time.

I didn't play 2021 so I'm not sure if it was removed this year or last year, but I noticed on this year's game you can no longer press up on the directional pad during an AB and see the pitch count with a breakdown of balls and strikes.
