Shohei Ohtani Rule for the DH

I just read that the MLB has included for 2022 with the universal DH a special rule under which the starting pitcher can also bat as the DH in the game. The starting pitcher could continue to bat as the DH even after the starting pitcher is replaced on the mound. As far as I know this rule is not in the game.

This rule change was put in effect very late, after the game went gold. I'm not sure this is something they can patch in but maybe.

I suspect this new rule would not be easy to incorporate in the game. It might be the kind of change that would need to wait until mlb 23.

The other question is, if the pitcher is also acting as a DH does this count towards being qualified as a two way player? I just do not know the answer.
