Trouble with LHP‘s - is it just me?

Hey, this is somewhat of a make fun of myself post but I was wondering if anyone else out there has trouble pitching accurately when they’re using a lefty? I don’t know what it is but I would bet money that 9 times out of 10 I pitch better with a right hander versus a left-hander. Don’t know why… My brain just doesn’t like watching the slider go that way or something. Or maybe that’s only part of it… Maybe it’s because the lefties are seeing more right handed hitters on average?

I don’t know, is it just me? LOL

I used to have a terrible mental block when it came to pitching w/southpaws. so much so that I refused to employ lefties in my starting rotation but relegated them to bullpen duty. thankfully after years and years of agonizing futility, something finally clicked. I give Wade Miley huge credit in that breakthrough or else I may have never learned the joy of pitching with John Means

Yes! I never seem to find my spot and tend to get crushed by righties if I leave them in for too long. I just figured my LHP’s weren’t that good.

I’ve got Peterson in my rotation but I can’t see that lasting long!

I am the opposite. I kill left handed pitching over right handed. Even with left handed batters. Something about the ball coming from the left side of the screen I just track it better.

yeah, while I'm more closer to being a 1 Hit in 4 (or 5 lol) AB's, than 1 in 3, and will never be mistaken for being The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived (I'm closer to being a Menzoza batter lol), I don't really hit any worse batting lefty than batting righty.

also, it seems the op was asking more about pitching left-handed as opposed to hitting left-handed

I do notice I end up taking a much different approach with a lefty, generally if it's a left starter they don't have very overwhelming velo. I end up throwing a ton of down and away changeups, very rarely are you gonna get hurt by the CPU if you execute that pitch.

I’ve got the Rockies for my franchise so I have two left handers and I’m seriously considering trading one of them for right hander to somebody because I’m just getting slaughtered every time I put them on the mound. Lol maybe I just need to practice more or employ a better strategy. But I certainly am not doing very well with them so far

I guess I am one of the few oddballs out there, I shred with either side.

I am up to All Star default pitching, and I STILL dominate. Yesterday was the first game where I gave up 6 runs in a single game for this release. I left Ryu in too long, and it backfired.

Other than that, i average 5-6 strikeouts per game, 2-3 walks, and 2.7 runs per game.

Not sure if the patch had something to do with it, but I played 2 games last night and got rocked. First game i gave up 4 in a inning, I clawed back in the 7th to tie, then the game freaked out and went to dashboard.(never had that happen) Second game I got rocked again giving up 7 total. I apologize, I dont like blaming patches if it was just pad pitch selection, I am just coming off from player NHL 22 and patches messed that game up, A LOT.

Ill keep going on default All-Star and see if this continues. If it does, no biggie. I like pressure pitching.

EA likes messing up games with patches. It’s not just NHL.
