Ignore budgets

Hey guys, I know we talk about this before but this board doesn’t have a search function but should this be turn on or off for when you do franchise ?

Off for realism. On if you don't want any of the teams to follow any sort of budget limitations.

Why off for realism? Wouldn’t that cause teams like Oakland and Tampa to spend similarly to NY & LA?

I have always gone with budgets off. I also recently decided that I am going to use 30 team control to manage rosters more and implement a salary floor in my franchise. Somewhere between 80 and 100 million. I also plan to keep teams like the Pirates and As with lower payrolls and have to do more with less.

Yeah it will be a lot of work, but I'd rather have the flexibility to do it this way and implement self imposed restrictions than what I get with budgets.

The setting is worded as "ignore budgets", so "Off" doesn't turn budgets off, it keeps them on (or doesnt ignore them)

Yeah its worded very strange. Probably should just say budgets on or budgets off .

Well now you are right....turning it ignore budgets "on" means that teams will ignore budgets and spend more.

I always turn it on, because I control all 30 teams and I don't want some transaction I have to make to keep rosters current being blocked because of one team or another not having enough money. So I don't want realism, I want control.

So with it on, will low budget teams be spending as much as a Yankees team? Or will they keep in line with real life spending?

OMG

Ignore budgets on, teams are ignoring budgets - teams have no budgets to manage and spend freely.

Ignore budgets off, teams are not ignoring budgets - teams have budgets to manage and spend within their team budget.

The word "budget" is starting to get annoying. lol
