I'm sure there are people on this forum who have done a deep dive and know more than I but one important thing to know is once you discover a player his current attributes don't change. That's important for starting pitchers especially because they rarely increase in stamina.
I try to find starting pitchers with 70 or above stamina and 50's or better h/9 bb/9 k/9 and durability because pitchers lower than that in stamina will usually decline to the point where they are incapable of lasting 5 innings by the time they reach MLB. A starting pitcher with 65 or below stamina is at best middle relief years later when the progresses enough to pitch in MLB.
What changes in scouting is potential and even if a player has A potential he needs to have respectable attributes to ever reach MLB especially now with performance playing a role in progression.
Therefore it's important to look at current and realize that is the starting point from which the player will progress or regress. At the end of the draft when I'm looking at players I have discovered but not scouted I always draft based upon current attributes.
Feel free to add or correct me if I'm wrong. It's clear from watching youtube and the comments on the videos that a lot of people don't understand scouting include some of the people posting tutorials. I suspect that applies to some on this forum and perhaps a thread will help.
