Developing players in the minors franchise mode
I’m playing franchise mode with the marlins and I play every game manually. Just wanted to know if anyone has any tips or strategies on developing players in the minors system in regards with training and when to upgrade the from A TO AA TO AAA ball. I know players in A ball don’t receive any stats since the game thinks they’re not playing any games and would that alter their progress or not?VAMO MALIN!Tags: None -
Re: Developing players in the minors franchise mode
players in single A still progress (or regress if they're of a certain age)
I'm not much of a multiple seasons kinda guy but I have seen enough to know once a young prospect hits 50 Overall I can promote him to Double A, and when he reaches 60 Overall he can jump to AAA
at least, that's the way I've done it, with an old carry-over franchise started in Show 14 and concluded in Show 20OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Developing players in the minors franchise mode
I typically place guys that I view as career minor leaguers/fringe mlb guys in AAA. Top prospects and guys that I project to have meaningful impact in the majors at some point I'll put in AA. Throughout the season I'll keep an eye on my AA team and if someone is struggling I'll give them the boot to single A. The only time I ever move players around to AAA is for injury replacements. This seems to work ok for me I've had some guys break out in big ways but the odd occasion I'll have guys regress in potential.

Re: Developing players in the minors franchise mode
This is how I understand it but others can correct me if I'm wrong:
AAA is the highest level of competition so you only really want surplus big league players or long term back ups to play here. Because of the higher level of competition, it's more difficult for players to put up big stats and progress.
AA is the sweet spot for progression because players are getting plenty of game time but the level of competition that they're facing is lower. You should put your top prospects and future big league starters here so that they can thrive and develop quickly.
A is generally for high potential, low overall players. Stick those 50 overall, A potential guys here on the off chance that they progress enough for you to move them up to AA. There's no real reason to put anyone else here.Comment

Also it could be placebo, but I have noticed bigger gains for prospects who perform well at Triple as opposed to double A.
I use a combination of age, ratings, and common sense to decide where I assign my prospectsComment
