Re: Calling Off Support Group
Wouldn’t matter for me anyway. My wife works from home, so if I were to take a sick day I’m pretty sure the first thing she’d tell me is “ you’re not going to be playing all day right?” She’d then produce a list of chores for me to do around the house.
Damn I knew I should have stayed single.

lol, no really, rent a cheap motel and make sweet baseball on the sidepiece. the best thing about the Show is it'll never ''accidentally'' leave lipstick on your collarOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Calling Off Support Group
I'm "lucky" enough to be on disability, so I can't work. It's not physical, but I won't get into any more details.
What I am really lucky to have, is a wife that works her *** off as a nurse to pay for all my systems, games, and my other big hobby, baseball cards.
So I can basically play whatever, whenever. Well, unless we have to do normal life stuff in between.
I also just want to add, I take care of everything at home since I'm always here. Don't want anyone to think I make my wife come home from work and cook and clean. Although she does enjoy cooking sometimes. And she's a fantastic cook. She used to be a chef.Last edited by PVarck31; 04-26-2022, 09:41 PM.Comment

Re: Calling Off Support Group
I scheduled friday off work awhile ago for a routine medical appointment. Welp.... They just called to say the doctor won't be in friday so I'll need to reschedule. I still intend to take friday off anyway. Why? Because "The Show", that's why! It's technically not calling of, so... WINNING!Comment

Re: Calling Off Support Group
Every morning when I wake up to get ready for work I have to battle the urge to call off so I can play "The Show" all day. I'm able to fight this urge by reminding myself that my wife will think I'm an idiot and I'll get scolded lol. I can't be alone in this struggle, can I? What are some of your techniques to resist the urge to call off work in the name of "The Show"?

Just your friendly neighborhood Brit dropping in to say that I'm mildly entertained that you refer to it as 'calling off'. We say 'calling in' here. What a rich and vibrant world we live in.Comment

Re: Calling Off Support Group
Recently left my job and started a new job as a stay at home dad. As wonderful as that is, I unfortunately can’t call in and play The Show when my 4 month old boss is constantly nagging me about my work performance.
During his nap times I try and tidy up the home and get a few quick games of DD in before the wife gets home and I have to prepare dinner.
Night time and weekends are where I get most of my Show gaming. But I’ll tell ya the urge to play during the day is tempting

Re: Calling Off Support Group
I work 3rd shift and get a sweet differential while not having to work 8 hours to get paid for 8 hours. There’s almost no incentive for me to stay home and lose pay when I play 3 hours every morning when I get home and like 12 hours a day on the weekend when I dont work OT.
My girlfriend works 1st shift so I dont miss any time with her, but when she heads to bed around 8 on work nights and 10 on other nights, I’m back in the man cave crushing some Show.
As a side note, in my work area there is a big screen flat panel tv that we use to “blow up” work instructions and blueprints (I work in aerospace), I’ve been tempted to smuggle in my system and play on it. HahaComment
