But if you think about all sports games they have been stuck for quite some time. Madden for instance is really not much different than it was 5 or 6 years ago. Boring bland and very clunky in my opinion. I guess the 2k sports line tries to do more with making the game more like a presentation better than all of the sports titles and I do not see any other franchises trying this. I guess by now I would have felt this would have been expanded on since NFL 2k5 but 18 years later that game still holds a presentation advantage over most games. I know not all of you care about presentation but for me it really makes the game feel more realistic and less repetitive as it does today. But again if I am in the minority then that is probably why it will never get done or be focused on in the future. That is just my 2 cents.

I think the worst thing to happen to sports video games has been exclusive contracts. The reason sports titles were better decades ago was because you had competition to make your product better in order to get people to buy it over the other one. All that has been lost. There's only 1 baseball game. There's only one football game. There's no incentive to make the game better and bet your competition cause there is no more competition.

It also makes it easier to get burned out. Back in the day when there were all the different options you could play one baseball game for a while and the go play another and get a whole different experience and you had 2 or 3 or even 4 different options at any one time. I truly do miss those days.

Agree 100000% While most exclusive license are gone it really kills the sports video game industry not forcing games to try harder

Now that EA (Maker of mvp obviously) has bought the studio that made Super Mega Baseball I am hoping that the next Super Mega baseball game keeps the graphics and fun style they have while adding mlb players.

          Re: That’s it for me

A few years ago I couldn't get enough of the Show but every year I get bored quicker and quicker. I've already lost most my steam this year.

To be fair, it's all the big sports titles and I do believe it's because they don't change enough to get me excited.

I've really found my gaming time going to games that from most standpoints I would consider a little, or even a lot inferior to the AAA titles but just way more fun simply because they are new or newish to me. Legend Bowl, MotoGp, Supercross, I even played Rugby and Cricket and I know little about them just to get a fresh sports game fix.

I'm aware. 2K was the one that had the exclusive rights deal with MLB. That still doesn't change my overall point.

Well maybe next time don’t lump baseball in a paragraph that starts with exclusive licenses killing sports games and then mentioning football (which is exclusive) and baseball ( which isn’t ) as examples and there won’t be any misunderstandings
