It’s a fun stat though? And baseball is all about stats. One of my favourite things to see is batter vs pitcher matchups, “this batter is 4 for 10 life time vs this pitcher”, who doesn’t like more stats? Anything that adds even the smallest bit to the presentation of it all is a welcome addition imo

Oh, I’m all in for stats. To me this isn’t a stat when it’s subject to absolute change with a big inning. It’s cool if people like it…I don’t. Remember, I’m one of the “fanboys” (prefer fanperson ) who always defend SDS with my very being.

Well….what good is it? What is it for? Team has a 70% chance of winning unless their relief pitcher comes in and stinks the place up. Makes no sense to me.

Its the new thing in real life broadcasts to show win percentages as betting on baseball (sports) is becoming more...mainstream I guess you could call it.

I thought it might have been something like a momentum meter, so if momentum was toggled on, it let you have an idea of the real-time “balance” of the game.
The reason I thought that was because the movement of the slider is dynamic. If you strike a guy out when your controller is rumbling( big situation), the meter visibly moves in your favor after you get him. To me, striking a guy out in the second inning of a 0-0 game, would not really be indicative of win-probability. Plus, you can see the meter rise and fall situationally in the innings based on extra base hits, or stealing a base.
Is it possible that it might be a momentum balance meter, and when your team has the advantageous swing, that the pitches are a little easier to hit the spots, the batters pci gets an advantage, and the opposite happens with a team that is on the low side of the meter?
Everyone knows the ebb and flow are such a major part of baseball, is it possible this is an addition to mimic that swing of big Mo’?

It's a neat addition but I'd trade it in an instant to have the full graphic stat Overlays during all batter walkups back. Instead of them randomly showing up once I twice a game. It looks so great on The show theme and I want to see it A LOT more.

It is a stat, though. All it is basically saying is how often teams in those situations win. It adjusts a little for team talent, but when you have a 72% chance to win when up 1-0 in the 4th, it's saying statistically the team in your position wins 72% of the time.

It's not really different than a real life broadcast showing teams are 288-16 this season when scoring first.

I think those of us who aren't a fan of it just mean that it seemed like a not that necessary addition compared to some other things that are more pressing. I really don't even notice it. But it's not like it's some horrible thing.
