Player Progression When Out Of Position

In MLB the Show if you have a young player playing out of their actual position, does this affect their progression? Like if a 2B is playing SS will that make them progress slower or is it better to have them on the field just getting experience?

My experience has been that its important to get them on the field and playing everyday. Its why sometimes I'll leave a top prospect down in the minors maybe one year longer than I wanted to, because I want them to play everyday and get at-bats instead of sitting on the bench and platooning at best.

I don't feel this approach has staggered the development of any of my prospects and they are progressing just fine.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Is where they're playing one of their secondary positions?

Ultimately I don't think it matters that much as long as they're having success wherever they're located.

One of the biggest things to progression is stats. In simmed games, it will not matter that they are out of position as long as they accrue stats.

If you are playing the games, that is different as there is a higher chance of errors.
