Really? Yep ever heard of ballplayer by the name of " Joe Adcock" Inappropriate text.
Good thing Joe Adcock played during more acceptable times otherwise he wouldn't have a career.
Who came up with this? Wow

In my 1994 set, I have to make every Dick or Dickie into an initial. So, D. Schofield, by exemple.

And then there's RA Dyckey....

Asterisks don't work to censor it either. So D*ck = Innapropriate.

It's massive overkill.

And the logo vault is not moderated at all.

In MLB20 I was rebranding all 30 teams to NCAA teams and Gamecocks was one of the names that they had listed and it wouldn’t let me use it.
It may be the same way in 22, I haven’t checked.

I was creating a stadium and I wanted the location to be in Milford, the town I grew up in and it wouldn't allow that either.

Name restrictions in offline modes are an excellent example of how completely out of touch they are with this segment of the community.

Yep it's ridiculous. Can't even make Harry Heilmann it's H'eilman I guess it's because of the Nazi thing I have no clue! And like mentioned 1927 there was a lot of players with the name Dick but I guess they'll be known as Richard now dumb as hell. But can play against online players with disgusting and literal hate group names ect.

My guess is it's too similar to "hymen". Still, overly ridiculous. Madden at least let players be edited. Names like Cox, or Penix could be used after importing a draft class with those names and changing the names yourself.

I believe Heilman with one "n" has long worked because it has long been in the database of spoken names. Aaron Heilman spells the name with one "n". Harry Heilmann spelled it with two. Aaron's spelling has been the one in the database. If one "n" still works, I suspect the name is still there.

Similarly, I suspect the reason so many names are not allowed this year is that the name database is much smaller than it has been in recent years. My guess is more names are being flagged as inappropriate now because names in the database can be used even if they would otherwise be banned as inappropriate.

No doubt, the Nazi connection to the word heil is why Heilmann (with the double n) hasn't been allowed for years. However, Heilmann, as in Harry's last name, was never in the list of audio names available. Heilman with one "n," as the name is spelled by Aaron Heilman, was allowed in previous years, as were other names that could be seen as inappropriate which appeared in the list of audio names, such as "Dick."

I haven't fired up 22 in a while, but is Heilman with one "n" still available as an audio name? So many names are gone from those lists of available audio names that I suspected that was the reason so many more names are now prohibited as "inappropriate."

you can still then edit the players name to whatever you want it after you download it from the vault and play it offline, but if its in the vault, it needs to be something like John Smith and not something like Scrotie McBoogerballs

I love that they have the audio for Chubacubras when making a custom team, but if you try and use that name it is flagged as inappropriate and cannot be used. FFS
