I just bought a PS5!!

I have 2 questions to please answer.

1.) what are the major/minor differences with buying MLBTS 22 for the PS5 or a PS4 version? ie...graphics, gameplay, etc..

2.) If I DID buy the PS4 version game, what would it look like on a PS5? Gameplay, graphics..etc

Welcome to the club!!!

1) As someone that has played both the PS4 and PS5 version, on the PS5 console, the biggest difference is that the PS4 version has Sounds of the Show whereas the PS5 does not, but has create a stadium, which the PS4 does not. The only other difference is the PS5 version runs smoother than the PS4.

Personally I bounce back and forth between the two.


2) The PS4 version plays really well on the PS5. I don't think there is a huge difference in graphics and gameplay honestly.

Countryboy….so this years The Show 2022 has SOS and it works on the PS5???? I’m confused. I thought there was no way to play SOS on the PS5 regardless. Heck I just might need to pickup the PS4 2022 version. Can I use the roster from the PS5 game when I start up the PS4 game?

Yes if you have the PS4 version of the game, it will use SOS on the PS5.

Can you save the roster to the cloud? If so, you should be able to.

Franchise allows you to upload your franchise save file to the cloud so you can use for either the PS4 or PS5. Note you must manually do the the save/upload of the file to the cloud.

Well… I didn’t realize I have both versions so I downloaded the PS4 version to take a look.

1. Amazing how you can download SOS music for the PS4 into the PS5, but you can’t load SOS music when playing the PS5 version. Bummer, but I knew that.

2. I was hoping the vault would be from the PS4 creators but they are from the PS5 creators. AND the vault is just as screwed up as the PS5 version. The guys doing faces on 20 are sorely missed by me.

3. The Show 2020 looks MUCH better on the PS5 than the PS4 version. Hmmm.

I’ll be deleting it to clear some space.

Graphically, the difference is stunning and noticeable.

I really feel like they cleaned up alot of bad animations in '22.

The biggest gameplay difference is defense. So drastic, it might be overdone.

.. the downfall is the rosters that have been lost. Absolutely soul crushing.

From the time I got into que to the time I finished my purchase was only about 20-25 actual minutes.

Anybody still looking for one I HIGHLY recommend SD.

Ended up with the bundle only ones they had left. should be getting it monday or tuesday.

Same randomly at Best Buy and they had PS5s in stock. So my DD transferred over no problem, is it possible to load my PS4 franchise and play it on my PS5 version?

I had to hit refresh a couple hundred times on the Best Buy site.

Ironically, I think I hit one on Costcos site also, but didn’t complete the checkout steps correctly.

Such a joke of a launch.

Disgraceful if this is how these are going forward.

I got mine on the 20th and on 21st...... Yep you guessed it.

MLB 20 plays like a dream on the PS5 with SOTS and the plethora of classic
Rosters as well as a fantastic 2021 and 2022 updated rosters and Bacons very best fictional roster with historical stats and service time.

Dude…..dive back in and enjoy. True 60 FPS on the 5 for MLB 20. Everything pops as well.

Just started up after the All-Star break. Second half of the season. Will probably use 20 for my winter league. It IS a beautiful game. Sort of disappointed how washed out PS4 22 looked.
And honestly it’s a bummer how AWFUL the player vault is in this years game. Was hoping it would be fixed as it was awful last year too.

Yes.



From options tab click UPLOAD TO CLOUD and it will save your franchise to the cloud. On your PS5 go to FRANCHISE, press SQUARE and select DOWNLOAD FROM CLOUD, and your franchise from PS4 will be available to play on PS5.

...Yeah you are lucky. I have been invited to Sony qeue twice in the last three months now and even though I click the link right at the start time, I have had to wait 20 minutes to get in to the website and upon entering to purchase the PS5 console, the only things left to purchase were PS5 controllers and PS5 controller covers as the PS5's were sold out...

I am holding out hope that The Show eventually is offered on the PC and the modders can work their magic...(very unlikely that happens though...)

I will hand it to them, tehy have virtually every jersey. Outside of domed stadiums, and equipment mods, there really isn't much work to be done, comparatively, to what is available for Madden.

I was hoping with all teh Switch homebrew the rosters would have been cracked already. That is what we really need.
