Just a few more questions please

Hi Everyone. I asked Countryboy for some help which he graciously answered, thanks again for your help countryboy.

As has been said Just yesterday I FINALLY was able to snag a PS5!!

I'm SO happy I can't tell you how much.

Anyway seeing I never had one before could you answer a few questions for me about it?

1.)Is there a screen or link on the PS5 to TRANSFER ALL the Data and games from my PS4, or do I have to use a usb flash drive and do it that way?

2.) If I need to use a flash drive to do it, how do i go about doing that?


3.) I have a ton of classic rosters from madden and mlb the show from 20 on the PS4.

4.) I have 2 different profiles I use so I can keep ALL the classic rosters on my HD. On one I have 1960's thru 1998 classic rosters. On my second profile I have 2000 to 2021 classic rosters.

5.) my questions is if i use the flash drive method do I need to transfer ALL of the data from the FIRST profile then do the same for the 2nd profile?

Congrats on the ps5 score.

WRT your first question there is an import utility to bring game data from your ps4. (Sorry I don’t remember where as I only tried it once a while back but it’s a menu option).

When I tried to do this for my MLBTS 20 franchise it took a tremendous amount of time on Wi-Fi. The game itself got corrupted and would not run but all of my franchise files made it safely. I was then able to install the game off of disc and all worked fine.

If you have PS Plus, all your saved game files (like rosters/franchises) should be on that cloud for PS4, just download from there.

I personally would recommend purchasing a 4 TB USB drive, transferring your PS4 games to that and then plugging it into your PS5. Don't waste the PS5's hard drive space on all of your PS4 games; run those off the USB drive (if there are one or two PS4 games you want to play a ton; by all means move them over - but the majority run very nicely off of an external drive). PS5 games cannot run off of external drives; so save that precious PS5 hard drive space for them.

Thanks for all the advice but I'm still wondering about my 2 profiles ( having different rosters on them).

Will the PS5 transfer All the Data in one swoop or do I need to transfer that one profile at a time?
