You know this has always been me. Offline Franchise Only. But this year I messed with MTO. There have always been team that I have been mildly interested in playing but never enough to play a franchise with and commit real time to. So this year I said what the hell and gave it a shot. You know for what it is and what I was using it for it was fun. Not amazing and I have never finished a season yet. But it has been kind of fun messing around with a team and playing in their stadium. So while its not a big draw for me and is not something I spend a lot of time with. I have had a bit of fun messing around with it.

edit Full disclosure now that I think about it. I have played a lot of RTTS thru the years as my "I only have a little bit of time to play" mode.

It's a phenomenal game that I still play but there are long standing frustrations with manage mode and franchise.

I've stopped filing bug reports and my "wishlist" consists of wanting them not to screw up the game which has happened in the past with odd changes.

I swore I wouldn't buy mlbts22 without carry over saves and then bought it anyway.

          Member since 2004.

Both the games and the forums have changed quite a bit over the past 18 years. I won't say they are better or worse, but just different. I'm different as well.

I still play sports games, but I got out of the annual purchase loop. I'm on the Show '20 and I'm happy with it. I used to analyze each baseball, football, basketball and wrestling game release in minute detail. Years ago we also had multiple titles per sport with which to compare. I don't want to do that anymore. I want to play the games I enjoy and drop those I don't. I gave up hoping that "next year" everything would change with any brand.

I used to come here every day. Now I check in every few weeks, or now when a new game like Madden is coming out just to see what the latest is.

I realize the focus of these games has changed. I don't play online, so I'm now a relic of the past. I've come to accept that. I still enjoy some newer games, but for the most part I've gone back in time rather than forward to find my gaming entertainment.

Nothing major just small nuisances that haven't been fixed. For several years when the cpu defense expects a sacrifice bunt the user controlled batter won't swing the bat. If you don't order a bunt he will just stand and take pitches until he either strikes out looking or walks.

That gives an advantage to the cpu team because the game is poorly programmed regarding when they expect a sacrifice bunt.

3-2 count, 2 out force play in effect the user controlled runner doesn't automatically run. cpu in same situation the runner automatically runs.

There are instances in which the user controlled team pitches around a batter without being ordered to do so.

I just live with it and enjoy the game because it isn't going to get fixed.

You’re going to have to help me out here. You say the CPU EXPECTS a bunt, or it’s a bunt situation? The AI takes over once you input something. You have to tell your batter to bunt. I have never seen a batter Just stand there if you don’t input a bunt….never. The batter acts accordingly and just doesn’t stand there.

How do you know that your pitcher is “pitching around” a batter? You can input EVERY pitch if you desire….everyone. If you choose not to the AI acts accordingly based on a pitchers attributes, confidence, fatigue, stamina, etc.

Hoping somebody here can help me with this…

Everything has been playing great for me until the last couple of games. I’m on ps5 game version 1.007 and about 50 games into a franchise.

The last two games after I set my lineup and hit the advance button I have gotten thrown into a screen for reading emails. After reading and deleting all of them I can’t get beyond this screen to play the game. Eventually I have progressed by thrashing around and lots of button pushing but it’s very annoying. I feels like I am doing something wrong but I can’t figure it out.

Anybody know what’s going on here? Thanks.

The first thing I thought of is possibly your controller is malfunctioning?

Thanks for the suggestion jcar, I certainly didn’t think of that. I have a spare controller that I could try.

However in both cases when I was finally able to advance and play the game the controller seemed okay.

Not to belabor this but when I moved on to a new series the problem seemed to clear. Weird.

LOL Did not know where to share this so I figured this was a good a place as any. Was cleaning out emails and found this. Just show why I might be having a hard time letting go of The Show '20. I will point out this is for 2021. So for the actual release year of '20 with lockdowns I would imagine it is a lot higher?

Pitcher at bat. Runner at first. CPU defense goes to bunt defense. Pitcher will not swing at a pitch. He will stand there and do nothing unless you order him to bunt. No way to make him swing the bat.

It's clear is some instances the user's pitcher is pitching around a batter. Happens most often with the 8 hitter.

In the Big Inning, six and ten years ago, a long time ago and in a league far far away, our developer daddies set forth on these consoles, a new game, conceived in Franchise & RTTS, rooted in the principle that all modes were created as equals,
and They saw that it was good.
But then a great flood of Diamond D's came, and a perceived terrible drought and famine was seemingly loosed on the lesser modes.
And the Lesser Modes, feeling slighted, stoned their younger brother Dynasty, until a great Revelation came: It Is What It Is, the state we are in.
And everyone lived indifferently ever after. The End. (?)
