Unfortunately this game ran into the same problem for me it's had the last few years. The game out of the box has been fantastic. But then the developers patch certain things and the entire game changes.

This year has been no different for me.

Out of the box, this game was awesome for me. I started up my franchise and quickly got through 40 games and was well on my way to completion a full season with every pitch.

      And then the patches came.

A month later, I'm on game 48, I've barely played because the game feels totally different for me than it did out of the box, and I have almost no chance of finishing the season. So disappointed because every year for me the game out of the box feels so great only to get totally messed up with patches.

What changes specifically have you seen since the patches? I've not witnessed any real gameplay issues at all.

You play MOM. You HAVE to ORDER him to bunt. If you don’t he will act accordingly, i.e., take a pitch, swing, hit a pop up, get a hit. No offense, but your example completely goes against manage-only-mode. There are COMMANDS. BUNT is one of them.

          THIS IS NOT A GLITCH.

If patched “totally mess up game play”, there would be no one playing this game. I’d like to hear some examples also. Gameplay hasn’t changed. I’m in 3rd place, 3 game losing streak and it’s not the patch.

My opinion on the "Current State" of MLB The Show

I can easily say updates/patches have changed nothing with gameplay in a negative manner on MLB 22 nor did they ever on MLB 20,19,18,17,16,15,14.

SDS has executed updates quite brilliantly compared to the other major sports games.

I play 20 because it is easily my favorite version of this great franchise.

To me the game feels different and I can "easily" say that without hesitation. "Stick skills reign Supreme" literally means nothing.

I think people are just trying to figure out what these statements mean. They're all very vague.

                      PAD is that you?? LOL

                      just teasing.

Its ok. You have your opinions on the game. Sorry it doesn't work for you. I don't know why you keep playing and wasting money if this is a pattern for you. That seems a little crazy. Maybe wait and buy it in December when they are done patching for $20 next year. Then the game wont change for you.

But arguing a point like this in particular threads here on OS wont go well for anybody and just detracts from the conversation.

They do patch changes to gameplay. But those changes are restricted to Diamond Dynasty. I haven't noticed any changes in season for franchise in the last two years.
