A glitch that I haven't quite figured out

In manage mode with fielding shift set to auto my fielders play deep in the reverse of handedness for the batter.

For example Albies of the braves is 90 pwr vs lhp and 60's pwr vs rhp but my outfielder play him deep vs rhp. I've seen it with a batter who has 40's power.

There are two possibilities.

1 - The batter does have accurate power by my players mistakenly think he has good power.

2 - The player mistakenly has good power when he is supposed to have lower power.

Option 1 is a nuisance but not a major glitch because I can shift my outfielders to normal. Option 2 is a major glitch.
