Well, by the look of the trailer snippet that played before the feature premiere, it doesn't look like modern players got a uniform update. Needless to say I find this incredibly disappointing. The quality difference between the new Negro League uniforms and the current modern ones is staggering and I really hope they update them.

I wouldn't make too much out of a ~10 second clip. It's very likely that was recorded with an older build of the game. That doesn't mean that there was a major uniform update, but I wouldn't rule anything out from that clip

Sorry, I didn't mean for it to seem like I'm calling you out or anything. It's just that that sort of thing is always said with early trailers when some of us are hoping to see graphical updates and it never really seems to be the case where a trailer is misleading in that way. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm just not gonna get my hopes up again.

Really? When it comes to The Show I don't think I've seen a reveal trailer that ever looked more than slightly different than the final game. Maybe a different face scan or some better lighting here or there but never something on the scale of different looking player models.

Really? When it comes to The Show I don't think I've seen a reveal trailer that ever looked more than slightly different than the final game. Maybe a different face scan or some better lighting here or there but never something on the scale of different looking player models.

Agreed for The Show there has never been a significant change from first trailer to release in graphics assets.

Don’t want to jump to conclusions, but I agree, the trailer typically looks like the game.

It’s funny because I’m a gameplay guy first, but the gameplay for the show has been solid in my eyes for 5-10 years. I find myself just wanting something different. Whether it’s new player models, updating the grass and dirt, or even just making the broadcast/environment feel like a game I see on tv…I just want something refreshing.

I’ve been a day one purchase since 07, and I still might be this year, but I really wish this game had a next gen feel. I hate seeing Madden and 2k pass it in terms of graphics because I think a next gen looking baseball game would be absolutely beautiful.

End of rant, I’m probably just getting old and grumpy lol.

The screens are disappointing…but I don’t think I don’t think they’d mention updated uniforms if they were only talking about negro league uniforms. Time will tell.

Yeah the show isn't a bad game by any mean, it's actually a damn good baseball game BUT it's like the same game every year (gameplay/graphics) there wasn't any BIG evolution since the ps3 era, same models just better textures and more resolution.

I really want a revamp for this game or at least something new, was 100% sure that I wouldn't buy this edition because of the copy paste, looking at this post I was getting really hyped but man...the joy didn't last long xD I will pass this year's edition or may be I will get it on sale.

P.S. those player models are still really bad, they made Chisholm look fat xD

i am leaning towards the modern footage in the feature premiere being from an old build. updated uniforms is a "back-of-the-box" feature on the store fronts after all. also, the tech test last year was an old build (at least the switch version), wouldn't be beyond quick-edit trailer stuff being a little old as to not revel all their cards

People said that last gen too and it never happened. And that was when they only had to develop for 2 consoles. Now it's 5 and with so much emphasis on cross-play I'm not sure something of that scale is ever coming.

For me, I personally don't need all new player models, I just want the uniforms to not look like a PS3 asset in 4k. They were able to do it for the negro league unis, there's no reason they can't do it with the modern ones. Whether or not they will is an different issue.
