FYI in the past at least, colors for licensed equipment did have to go through the approval process at least in other games. Not sure if that’s the case here but this can be more complicated than it appears.

You guys find every excuse for SDS when in reality, GAMEPLAY is the best in the business. I'd argue that everything else is the worst.

We have cpu lineup logic from the steroid era, bullpen management which uses the same LRP every game, call ups have no nuance- just based on ratings, trades largely don't make sense, the whole equipment suite is from ps3, colorblocking is wrong on ALL shoes, we have uniform physics from ps3, grass/dirt from ps2. Like we literally have the game from ps3. Started this year with no new face scans which makes me even wonder what the purpose of buying the next years sports game is if they don't even, at the least, add in the new players.

It's crazy the amount of mental gymnastics that are done to cut them bail. How is the size of their dev team an excuse? They charge the same amount of money for the game that 2k and madden does.

Someone mentioned 2k took a year off, but 2k made the biggest franchise leap on the first ps5 version of the game without a year off. 2k's graphics always make a huge leap the first year on a new platform.

Lastly, back to equipment. Im not even asking for a 2k suite of equipment. It is just not acceptable to me for 2k to have like 100 shoes with correct colorblocking and SDS can't even get the 3 current nike cleats in that players wear with correct colorblocking. 3 SHOES lol THREE

Right. Very truthful. We also have to consider the size of the development teams and resources each studio has. Not all studios are created the same or have the same amount of resources. The SDS team is much smaller than the 2K team so they're not going to get as much done in a single cycle as the 2K team. They're also not at the luxury to take a year off in order to completely overhaul the game. I guess you could ask that maybe they work on two games at once? Have one that is the one they market on a yearly basis while on the side working on a completely overhauled game that would fully take advantage of the power of the new consoles. But I'm sure there's a lot of hurdles there too like a lack of man power and resources.

They charge the same price for both games. I don't HAVE to consider the size of the dev team. 2k has like 100 shoes with correct color blocking. MLB can't even get the 3 nikes shoes right.

And if you don't have enough dev power to get 3 pair of shoes right, then maybe you need more devs.

Can't believe we're still going back and forth on this topic. But everyone has a right to their own opinion.

But the FACT is, there's a huge swing and a miss by SDS for color blocking and brand logos on multiple cleats and batting gloves. It's been going on for years and there's no reason they can't fix it. You can't argue that.

But go ahead and torch me because I'm right. I got thick skin.

Why would they pay another person an exorbitant salary though, for something that isn’t really going to sale more games? You’re posing this question under the assumption that the ends will justify the means. There is not hundreds of people not buying the show because they can’t change the colors of shoes. Hiring someone to do a job that has no effect on the outcome of profit is bad business

This was in response to ppl guessing that they could not get 3 color ways correct because devs are "undermanned and overworked".

At the end of the day, no one knows why they always get this wrong. If you have news from a dev on why they cannot get the equipment correct, I'd be happy to heard.

My pushback is against people coming here with no real information, just guessing, reasons why the colorblocking isn't correct. I can speak for a couple of us in here that care about this... we are not interested in a random guess as to why they can't get the colorblocking correct. We just want it right at the end of the day.


At the EOD, for a new MLBTS release I expect the 2 new Adidas/nike and 1 new UA/NB cleats with correct colorblocking. That's 6 cleats done correctly. I expect updated rosters with new faces scans (ootb there were none this year and now they've maybe updated 3 teams or so and some players here or there). This is not expecting or asking for the world.

Ah - this is always classic.

It’s very uncool for some to offer reasons why it may not be accurate. Mainly because you don’t believe them.


Totally cool though to offer your theories with the exact same lack of working knowledge of what the actual root cause is.

The hypocrisy on this site is always amazing to me.

It was one person numerous pages ago that said a dev was lazy. I thought that was done with.

Nut I agree with you. My concern was never with the "devs". I think that term may just be used loosely but I would assume like an art team would be responsible for the colorblocking, not a "dev".

I personally don't care whose specific responsibility within SDS it is. But what would you call it for the game to have the same outdated equipment in with wrong colorblocking for 3 years?
