I've always been primarily a franchise player but can't wait to try this mode. Everything looks great.

This is such an important mode, especially for me. I will gladly give SDS $70 just for this mode. This is how important it is to me.

Damn Ramone got me tearing up here. So, so incredibly awesome they are able to do this.

Really enjoyed that presentation and I'm looking forward to learning more about this chapter of baseball history. I'm not really that surprised that it seems to be moment-driven - but I think the narrative sections are going to be the bigger draw of this whole feature. As SmashMan said, Bob Kendrick is very engaging. I'm assuming that narrative on Jackie was part of the actual in-game footage.

Gameplay-wise, I noticed a few new things in the UI. Clutch, Power vs Handedness, and Vision shown in the analysis. I also noticed the 3-layered "vision" region (the area in which a batter can make contact, assuming good timing), and I'm wondering whether it's related to them showing us those three attributes on screen? Or it could just be another cursor interface that isn't really dynamic or anything. Guess we'll have to wait and see!

Nice that we seem to be getting some new stadiums out of this as well (as well as some redesigns on an older one or two, like Forbes).

This is actually already in the game under the PCI settings. There are a number of different options to play around with to customize the PCI, the "outer" PCI is tied to the vision rating, the "inner" PCI is tied to contact and the "Perfect" PCI is tied to power. You can turn all of them on or off or have some of them fade when the pitcher starts his motion

Yep, good call. It's the "Reverb" option for outer PCI - I just never saw it because I never used anything but the default...lol. Doubt it has anything to do with the ratings shown besides vision then, but I am curious as to why those three ratings are shown. They all relate pretty heavily to that at-bat situation - Clutch for a runner on base, Power because it's a RISP opportunity (though you could say contact is pretty important here as well), and Vision because you really don't wanna strike out in that situation. It makes me wonder if it shows different ratings there based on game context - doesn't make much sense to have clutch shown if there's no one on in a blowout game, for example.

As a fan of the history of baseball this presentation was for me the most interesting and entertaining to date. I will certainly be buying MLB 23 the Show.

I do hope the stadiums, uniforms and introduced 8 players can be carried over to other modes like franchise. Also for historic rosters it would be good if we had the option of not using a batting helmet as we saw with this new mode.

Finally, I understand that each year the game will be introducing 8 new players from the Negro Leagues. I hope this is cumulative meaning with MLB 24 the 8 from MLB 23 will continue in the game even if just cards and not simply be replaced.

I'm a little disappointed that we have to wait until 24 for a new batch of players from the Negro League story. Now if they put more of an emphasis on making the Franchise mode standout more, then I'll be happier. I'm interested in learning more about the mode as a whole. I hope they give good emphasis on each storyline.

I hope...I hope...I hope that we can play in those 6 stadiums outside the Storylines mode.

I absolutely love that they captured that moment in time with the umpires wearing what they did back then, the crowd and how they are dressed, the atmosphere and look of the stadium, the bats, the gloves, etc...

Its rare that I play anything outside of franchise mode, but Storylines will be one of those rare occasions.

I’m sure if they added more players then those resources and that time would be taken away from something else. So I’m fine with only 8 players.

Looks cool and all, just another set of Moments for DD XP and stubs for people to do for their programs but learning about the history and involving them in this series is a huge credit to the team.

I may do them, I hate moments with a passion and have spent way too much time doing them in years past, this year my plan was to do 0 moments all year.

I’ll probably end up doing these but still at moreso looking forward to hearing more about how they’ve improved other aspects of this game that sorely needs attention

This mode doesn't sound as exciting as I first thought. I was hoping you could play as a team in a season mode and the league would have mostly real historical players with some generic players to round out the rosters. Perhaps there is no organization that you can even negotiate licensing deals with for all those players.

This! Exactly this, please SDS! If updated uniform features, updated (old time) gear, and no batting helmet options can be present in other game modes, I would be absolutely thrilled beyond belief!

If this, along with some additional DD uniform creation slots, can be auto applied to era specific DD player cards, that'd be amazing too!

This is just Moments with a fresh new paint.

Will contact hitters be viable again online? When will update those awkward animations. Literally the same “coming to the plate” since like the PS2z I don’t get it… graphics are fine, what we need is better animations.

The fact that we’re seeing some uniform variation gives me some hope that maybe the Yankees numbers are finally in the right spot on the back.
