    Senga 2023?

    Hey guys!

How does it work with Kodai Senga?

Will he be in the new game from launch, after the first roster update?

    Thanks!

Like someone else said, it’ll likely be after the first roster update. So at least 2 weeks after launch.

to me, the whole ''who's eligible for inclusion''waters became really murky when Sony decided they had the right after all to include MiLB'ers with zero MLB service time.
so who knows how many years it will take for them to decide it's also within their rights to include players who play on a MLB teams spring training squad, and go ahead and have them ready right from the get go on the default roster

I understand why they're skittish about including a new foreign leagues player on the default who may for whatever reason decide not to join the mlbpa.
so they may never include a new player from a foreign league right off the bat, we might always have to wait a week or two after release for those type new players.
you just can't know if a legal team is going to decide to change their interpretation of the rules. nothing changed rule wise when the Show started putting in MiLB'ers a few years ago except Sony's legal team interpretation. if they had interpreted that way from the beginning we could have had real minor leagues as far back as Show 06

Great info. But Nothing was interpreted different. Mlbts always had the rights to put milb players in. We don’t really have the answer as to why Sony didn’t include them prior to 20.

The way it works is who Sony has approvals for. You can want a certain guy in the game, but they have to submit that to MLB, MLBPA, MiLB for an approval. If it's approved then that certain player can be in. If it's denied then then the player cannot be added at that time. There are outliers and other factors that also go into these things as well obviously. But basically Sony can't just add who they want without it being approved first and paperwork is in order on every end. They can negotiate with I dividual players, but that can become very pricey. Example of negotiating would be when they added Shohei Ohtani

Exactly goes for coaches also. No Buck for the Mets last year. Hoping he is in this year. Looking at same rando you cant edit is a shame
